Goodbye: Semaj Bridgeman
Well both of his arms seem to be amputated from the elbow so I doubt he would have made much of an impact anyway.
When I came home there was a man in my house. He had a mechanical arm. I fought with this man
you've been waiting for this setup your whole life, haven't you.
I saw you looking at that boy’s chest film
It's a hobby of mine.
Glasses? How tall was he? He much did he weigh? What color were his eyes? We can't help you unless you help us.
"All so that Devlin Macgregor can give you"... pause... Harrison Ford quirky look...
"Provasic"
Did he take anything from you?
Probably not the same thing Cary Grant took from Grace Kelly in "To Catch a Thief"

Hey Copeland: be good.
Good catch.
You find this man.
Maybe we can pick up Desmondo Ruiz in the portal, if he can take himself away from eating oranges and making fake IDs.

idk, I feel like Mike Barrett still would have been a plus linebacker and elite blitzer even without his arms!
Probably one of the least surprising position groups for transfers…
Yeah. Rolder/Hausmann/Barham have a combined 7(!) years of eligibility left, so there are probably better opportunities elsewhere. If one or two guys from the newest class are flashing, and Hood is keeping himself in the mix...thats a lot of kickoff team.
He's going somewhere he won't simply be known as "the other Semaj"...
What's the deal with keeping receivers on the roster? This is getting to be more than us just running on every play.
You’re thinking of WR Semaj Morgan. Semaj Bridgeman is an LB.

How about Jim? That's my name!
Depth Chart by Class Updated… needs further update.
The timing is suspicious, maybe he didn't like what he saw in Seth's post.
I think that's three guys who didn't get the smiley face emoji and have now put their names into the portal. "Coach said I was going to get a shot at starting but look at this post on MgoBlog.....NO SMILEY FACE EMOJI FOR ME!"
Pro-tip. Either give everybody a smiley face emoji OR wait until May 2nd to crush their hope for the future.
Dammit Seth! You had one job!
As I've written before, OBVIOUSLY Michigan coaches spend their day refreshing MGoBlog, and apparently players do the same.

Seth, Seth, Seth...with great power comes great responsibility...
Maybe we need a double-secret code unknown to the players.
We used to get smiley-face stickers for good work in elementary school. That stuff's pretty important.
Oh, those were HUGE!
Hey, if we can make helmet stickers with those, I'm sure the motivation would result in another national championship.

That would have been the most Jim Harbaugh thing ever!

Otherwise the kids have to resort to drawing them on their own hands pregame…

Not surprised as he has a different position coach, DC, and even Head Coach now compared to when he committed, and that room looks stocked with talented upperclassmen starters, veteran backups (Rolder and Hood), and Sullivan was name dropped a lot and there’s other talented freshman like Curtis about to join the pack. Best of luck to him and others in the portal.
I honestly have no idea who this is. And I'm a happier Michigan fan for that reason.
In the portal era, we should just recruit 19 kids for every position.
I mean, yeah, but ... we've profited by the portal way more than we've been hurt by it. Imagine trying to keep a really talented player at a MAC school these days.
Yeah. I feel like in the past several years I’ve heard at least 3-4x someone drafted in the first two rounds with them saying “he started his career at Western Michigan”
Braden Fiske to the Rams ‘24 from FSU with 3 years at Western. Recruited as a 3* 1590th overall. Esposito recruited and coached him up.
Chase Brown Bengals ‘23 drafted out of Illinois but had a cup of coffee in Kzoo A 3* 1332nd overall recruit.
Jayden Reed GB ‘22 from MSU with a year at WMU. 1783rd overall 3*
It feels like 25 years ago Corey Davis lead the Broncos to a 13-0 record going into that Cotton Bowl. That team was the best ever @WMU . Due to the changes there probably never will be a better team.
They also do get the benefit of transfer down from P5 schools. It works both ways
MTU had a bad year in hockey, but got better as the season went on. Even better, there were some young players that showed a lot of potential and made me excited for next season. Then the portal opened, and every one of those young players was in it.
I don't begrudge the players for looking to improve their situation and maybe find a spot on a title contender, but it is pretty brutal for fans to know that we'll only every see unrealized potential.
Right? I saw Semaj and just assume Semaj Morgan.
Maintaining a college football roster requires its own dedicated staff department now.
Yeah I mean not overly concerned about this departure. However, the portal is definitely doing a lot of taking, and not a lot of giving. For a team that did well in the portal last year and now has even more spots to fill in this year, the lack of our usual high floor grad transfers in, is a concerning sign.
What spots are those?
Michigan doesn’t have a lot of spots to fill.
Well let’s see…we lost 4/5 starters on the offensive line. No QB on the roster has completed a meaningful pass in college, other than maybe Tuttle. Our WR options are thin at best. Our starting safety is out for the year and the guy that was going to replace him transferred. We have no one with any experience to backup Loveland. I’m thinking we could use a guy with some experience at any of those positions for a year.
That’s why you recruit. All of those spots are being filled by guys UM recruited.
Tuttle is the guy. They are going to add 1-2 WRs. Berry is taking Saab’s spot. Kline is going to be TE2..
The nature of college football is that there will be years when you will have a young roster. Thar is where Michigan is at.
If you were expecting them to add experienced guys at every spot you mentioned that was not a realistic expectation.
Solid info there SQ. Nicely done! Now put my mind at ease concerning the roster this time next year. We might be hitting that portal hard!
Some people just like to watch the world burn
