I get it. You're not objecting to the grammar/usage. You're using grammar/usage to object to the joke.

I.e., a joke that's almost right isn't a good joke. E.g., "Please take my wife." E.g., "I believe there's not anything wrong with that." "What you just said is just like something she said."

As I posted above, I've been on both sides of that situation: an MP giving instructions and given instructions by a cop.

So I know that cops seek full and immediate compliance while few people readily give full and immediate compliance.

As a former MP and someone who has played golf (albeit rarely), I'm not sure what do do with you assertion.

I DO know that cops tend to want immediate and full cooperation, and that many people are not inclined to immediately and fully cooperate with instructions.
