I mean, we played the games. It wasn't like we didn't have a chance to win them with 60:00 on the clock. I'd say we deserve whatever they say about us.
I hope that if we have a new coach, we at least hire someone with the common sense to keep around this year's Big Ten Offensive POY and build his offense around him. I'd wonder about anyone who didn't.
I think most of the Gators fans I know (I live in SoFL; I know a lot) expected a season that wasn't as spectacular as the ones they've previously under Meyer, but I don't think they expected more than three losses. They have two more tough games to go, too - I suppose it's possible that they could host The Horror: Swamp Edition, and FSU actually has a better record than UF right now.
Why? Addazio's playcalling isn't great; as the announcers noted, some of their more talented players were just hanging out on the sidelines for most of the game, like Demps and Rainey. Brantley isn't that great, and he doesn't fit the system that the veterans are used to running besides. If Burton had some kind of spark, like he did in that one game earlier this year, Meyer is certainly canny enough to play him, but I'm pretty sure that he's not the answer this season, at least not the way Tebow was during his freshman season.
I also like to think that their hold on recruiting isn't as good as it once was, but I think that's a pipe dream. The state, in particular the south, is so talent-rich that we can snap up some of the players, but there are lots more to go around for UF and FSU and UM, even if the latter two aren't the giants they used to be.
At this point, I'm not sure why they don't at least let Hagerup try a kick or two. In the beginning of the season, he was obviously jittery and it was a little much to ask, but he's handling punts quite well now, as well as kickoffs, and I know he kicked in HS ... I mean, I don't think it would make our kicking game any worse to try it.
I think it was pretty obvious (at least to me) that Carr wasn't going to be JoePa. The years leading up to 2007, there seemed to be indications that he didn't plan on staying the head coach of Michigan forever.
You forgot the part where the team is divided in half and Alabama runs one half (with help from their SEC West allies Arkansas and Auburn) and Florida runs the other half.
If Suzy Favor Hamilton has already been ranked, I have a hard time imagining that there's another female athlete who would outrank her, and I think she was around #19.
Florida's situation is similar to ours in previous years, actually. (Minus the recent NCs, of course.)
They have a system that works for a lot of their players and their coach ... just not their QB. Which means it pretty much doesn't work. They would be playing a bit differently if they had DRob or Cam Newton. As it stands, it ain't pretty.

What I want to know is why he's carrying that new Visa around in his wallet if he's not even gonna use it? Was it really worth activating it just to purchase french fries at the food court? I think he should have kept it in the envelope until 2011. We're going to need it in a few years.
that SIX ZERO had been browsing nearby the Best Buy store and staking out possible purchases for longer than the amount of time legally allotted each day by league rules. These rules violations are UNACCEPTABLE in such a storied program such as SIX ZERO'S. Who does he think he is? Mrs. SIX ZERO's ex-boyfriend ran a clean program. He would never use a checkout clerk with an arrest record, let me tell you.
Don't get me wrong, Wisconsin is a physical team, and Michigan runs a fast-paced offense, but isn't Clayborn's tendency to duck out of games to catch a breath going to affect his draft stock? I don't think "the other side is good" flies as an excuse in the NFL.
... Newton wanted PT, and he might not have been thrilled about the prospect of sitting behind Tebow for two years. His ... uh, extracurricular activities just sped things along.
That said, I don't think FL fans are sitting around crying over Newton, that ship sailed long ago, and besides, they're far too busy cursing Steve Addazio to the skies.
I have a really hard time rooting for Ferentz's program. As in I can't do it. I'm willing just to let things play themselves out, but I can't root for anyone now.
Also, on a more serious note, there's been a lot of griping about character issues among Meyer's players. It's going to get worse if he doesn't even win.
Yup. All the folks calling for RR's head don't seem to have thought the next part through all that well. There aren't that many great coaches out there, folks. Even Harbaugh is only starting to establish a resume of the sort we're looking for (because I know someone is going to come say "Harbaugh!").
We have five Big Ten teams left to play this season, ranging from not very good to decent to pretty damn good. Don't you think those data points are at all relevant before "demanding" more wins?
I think B10 titles (even when the schedule lines up right) is a lot to ask for Minny, but they should be going bowling most years.
I have a relative at Minny, and he has related to me that most people there are pretty disappointed that they built a nice new stadium (the "Gopher Hole") and haven't had a good team to play in it yet.
Are the boo birds so dense that they don't realize what a negative atmosphere this makes for our current players, to say nothing of any recruits attending the game?

Seriously?
I'm just going to watch Juwan Howard play for the Heat and reminisce about the early 90s.
Hey! It's nice down here. We keep having to put the AC on because it's hot.
good old-fashioned triple post.

Dammit anyways. All this talk about Jasper Howard is making me tear up a bit.
I'm rooting for UConn, because clearly I have no interest in rooting for teams who might win things.

Most likely. Probably will fool around with not getting tickets for a while.
J'ville may not be so warm that time of year. Brrr.
but last night, sometime before halftime, my fiancé yelled "John Brantley, you suck!" at the TV and then fell silent for the rest of the game.
Yeah, they're not taking it well.

Yeah, I'm also from Sconnie, and I have also heard that rumor.
ROY ROUNDTREE!
Victors valiant, indeed.
Make that three of us.

but let's not pretend that he's actually coaching this team.

makes me long for the return of Sexy Rexy. I think the two are kindred spirits, but there's just something about Sexy Rexy ...

for his sheer quotability.
Edited to add: and for the regularity with which we beat his teams. NDNation panicking aside, Brian Kelly scares me a little bit.

UF's weaknesses play to Michigan's strengths. It would be a nice and possibly advantageous matchup.
That's all I want. Last stop on the Mad Hatter's Magic Ride is the national championship game, folks. All aboard, unless you have heart trouble.

I'm having a very conflicted day watching the Green Bay / Miami game.
I'm a Packers fan, but I don't hate Chad Henne. I'm also starting Brandon Marshall in fantasy, and my opponent has Aaron Rodgers and the Packers D/ST.
Whatever, I just want the Pack to win.

This should be a weekly feature. Perhaps with a rotating cast of actors?

I think Michigan and Florida are on a collision course for meeting in a bowl game.
Exactly. The announcers kept describing Iowa as an opportunistic team, one that takes whatever they get and makes the most of it.
It's something Michigan can aspire to do. We need to capitalize off of other teams' mistakes, and I think that comes with experience.
Lesticles just iced his own kicker. Oh wait, that was a trick play.
Never change, Les.
