I'll be paying full attention for the remainder of this game, was watching but switching back and forth to the Pirate  @ Cubs until Chicago broke up a bid for a no hitter with 7 outs to go, plus other distractions.

Time now to buckle up and buckle down.

Thanks "HighBeta", he's one I hadn't yet noticed.  I just locked up his account as soon as I noticed that he spammed his very first post in 3 different threads immediately after opening his MGoAccount.

I'm actually surprised it took until this evening before someone reported you as a troll.

Trying to find a silver lining on this being a night game.

Best I can come up with is that I can sleep in and then leave for the AAGO tailgating at 9am rather than before 5am. And then tailgate all afternoon under some shade trees and our canopies rather than spend 4 hours baking in the hot sun inside Michigan Stadium.

Unfortunately we might again…

Unfortunately we might again be seeing that scenario play out for the Tigers right now.  Spencer Torkelson was the #1 pick in all of baseball a few years ago and is a long way from being even a replacement-level MLB first baseman.

Nowadays, I'm doing good if I can maintain a 4:40/mile pace riding my 24-speed hybrid Trek on the bike trail over a stretch of 6.2 miles (approximately equvalent to 10,000 meters).  With a tailwind, LOL.

After seeing this, I looked up whether the Grande Ballroom still exists and found this interesting article:

https://historicdetroit.org/buildings/grande-ballroom

Yes, it still stands, even though it been over 5 decades since the Grande has been a concert venue.  And unfortunately the place is beyond repair, which is a crying shame.  Crazy that a real estate agent currently has it listed at $3.5 million.

Next time I'm in Detroit, though, I'm going to make a pilgrimage there for some pictures---it appears that there's currently an MC5 mural on one side of the boarded-up building.

This is on my list to finish…

This is on my list to finish watchng this weekend, thank you for posting it. Never saw any concerts at the Grande Ballroom but have often heard great things about the place.

I started watching it yesterday evening but stopped after 12 minutes and instead spent a few hours outdoors viewing the Aurora.  I love watching these historical videos.

You're missing the point,…

You're missing the point, though, so let me start with a quote from Seth (from the first response on the Moderator Sticky thread):

7. Bewbs and general misogyny/objectifying of women. We have tens of thousands of female Michigan fans; don't make it suck for them.

https://mgoblog.com/comment/245251066#comment-245251066

Among his duties as managing editor, I believe Seth has the responsibility of lining up the sponsors and advertising who help keep this a fee-free blog.  Bottom line: we're not going to offend our readership and we're not going to potentially drive away advertising $$$.  IIRC, that was part of the discussion that led to the decision to discourage that particular meme and others that might offend.

I just now got a notification in my Aurora app that the kP index is back up to 8.33 right now.

Excuse me for a few minutes while I head outdoors for a look...

(edit @1:38:  100% cloud cover now, a very light drizzle falling.)

I was up there last weekend…

I was up there last weekend. Friday night the dark moonless sky at Grand Marais was ablaze with stars , a couple meteors, but no Aurora.

I've only been fortunate enough one time to see the Aurora over Superior .  Truly an awesome experience, one I've never seen along Lake Michigan.  From what I've heard from others though --- Headlands Dark Sky Park on Lake Michigan west of Mackinaw City is also a fantastic location for nighttime celestial events.

Good for you, glad you at…

Good for you, glad you at least got a glimpse.

I'm roughly 20 miles north of GR and got a solid two hours of Aurora viewing in before giving up on it shortly after midnight.  Even now, there's still a few breaks in the clouds up this way, enough to be able to still see the glow in the northern sky and even a bit overhead from time to time.

I've taken a few looks the…

I've taken a few looks the last couple days with my eclipse glasses, and even with no magnification have easily been able to see that huge sunspot each time.  This evening (probably about 90 minutes before sunset) I was even able to see a smaller secondary sunspot.

Those colors in the sky tonight are a fine tribute to him, I just read about him Friday morning in the diary you posted this week.  My sympathy to you and your entire family.

My sincere sympathies to you, uminks.  We went through much of the same recently, lost my dear MIL at age 84 just over a month ago. Alzheimers took its toll over the last several months but then leukemia struck and she was gone within a month after diagnosis.
