Double teamed and chipped consistently. Freed up Winovich on the other side. Winovich and the team in general did well against Ivey in solo action. I was not as impressed with him as I thought I would be. Chase smoked him for the sack, fumble, TD at the end.
Just generating conversation... I have no other vested interest in this but hope for a match up that can be exploited to an Elite 8 run. If the winner plays like this, Michigan has a good shot. They are playing like they can hang with anybody.
Same Webb was talking about DJ and Wagner on WTKA Michigan Insider this morning ... He felt they'd both be here another year. He thinks the only issue may be the talent interest that NBA scouts have been showing recently.
It's available on WTKA podcasts to listen to for more detail, but that was the summary.
SIAP -- Telling article on the poor officiating from the Game this year. At least there's some more play nationally on this topic... I'm frankly worried that money and power will hush this too quickly.
The Big Ten fined Michigan $10,000 on Monday because Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh ripped into the officiating that contributed to Michigan’s 30-27 loss. It was a justifiable action. But with that, the conference said the matter is closed.
Fat chance.
Closed in the mind of Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany perhaps, as he buries his head in the sand and refuses to answer some important questions.
The Big Ten did not respond to requests for comment. but Tiller said he thinks the conference probably changed its policy because it has struggled to hold onto top officials hired away by the NFL. It’s easier to retain officials if a conference allows them to work games closer to their homes, according to Tiller.
After that, Tiller said, background checks became part of the Big Ten’s hiring process for officials. He said it’s up to the conference to hold them accountable. But on Monday, someone else escaped accountability.
The Big Ten itself.
I remember being excited about Gardner being able to identify a Mike linebacker last year... seems like a similar type of quote. When I see translation on the field, I'll believe in the run game.
At least they are covering Michigan and taking a brief break from the ESS-EEE-SEE. Although, I'm pretty sure the Nuss references will drag the conversation there over-and-over-and-over...
Would be really nice if there was a way to clearly quantify pass protection efficiency. Clearly, the biggest hurdle that backs face transitioning from HS to college OR college to NFL is the effectiveness in QB protection. Keeps a lot of great runners riding the bench.
When Peppers gets his first pick, turns it up field, shakes off two tackles, gets a JRyan block running cross field before turning it up... 15, 10, 5 ... Touchdown.
Who needs offense?
I have Denard on an auction bid dynasty league signed to a five year contract... I have no intention of ever dropping him even if he never starts a game.
IMPORTANT EDIT: That being said, he's going to do something this year for the Jags... Just too talented.
The twitter feed was scary. The pick by Gardner sounded similar to the linebackers video from the Countdown Day 14 series... A little pressure and a bad decision.
On the other hand, this is a blip and I am going to (at least temporarily) stay positive about this year. I still expect to be in a good spot come November with a chance down the stretch.
What with all the O-line panic and football purgatory, nice to know there are universal constants. There's Pi - 3.14; there's war, there's peace; there's the polar vortex ... then there's Beilein / MBB. Good to know that team is still strong.

Thanks, I tried to repost and use HTML... but, alas, I'm an idiot
"Oh sad, I'm new again." Nm I'm an idiot
I like that locksley caught a flight home after a home game. This is the thing I will remember. And it will always be true to me
Totally agree. I believe it's won some architectural awards... not shabby for a library.
I live in Austin and saw them play 4 times this year. There aren't many here that would be sad about this...
As Brian said, this is well below the Yak line.
Oh man, didn't see he died... He's been sick so long. Appreciate the thoughts, very apropos.
I keep reading Graham as Graham Couch and thinking ... "well, yeah, of course that dude wrote this article." But, that's just my prejudice.

And it ends with an airball...
No one did anything on that whole defensive series for RI

Yeah... it's kind of all over the place. #crootin. I just lumped it all in.
I think Jones, Mathis and Camp are in the same boat.

Hope springs eternal, though...
Been happening for 1-2 weeks. Thought it was my phone and had to download MalwareBytes ... but, my phone was squeaky clean, apparently.
Agreed. Time will tell. Quantity and quality are both part of the equation.
That would be a shocker...
Call for John Harbaugh - haven't heard his name nearly as much, Cowherd on the "not-naming-names" ... maybe?
At least he's not missing the first game like Glasgow... God, missing those spring practices was rough.

Looking forward to some Crisler Center this year.
Just read on ESPN twitter feed that Derryck Thornton (men's basketball 2016 recruit) is out for the summer with a broken hand.
