I thought B522 was a nice recent release from EC. Probably my favorite over the last 3 years. If the finish lingered just a bit more it might be an all timer to my palate.
He was a great player who was fun and inspiring to watch over the decades. Most importantly he was a great leader and a true representation of Michigan.
Michigan grad living in Denver...listen to the local sports radio and they love to talk him up for the last 3 weeks as a candidate of choice. They of course lack details on his commitment to the university and think he would obviously come if the Walton family opened the wallet. I have to believe that Coach's word matters a great deal to him as a man of character. Also, he knows Denver sucks and they have irrevocably mortgaged the future with the Wilson contract and the loss of draft capital.
Surprised that Ted Nugent didn't make the list until late in the thread. Van Halen (RIP) would be top for me. Page's sound was pretty special, too. Slash is the reason I listen to GnR.
Hard to stomach the line problems on both sides. There's no offensive intent and while watching the Auburn game after to compare, it's obvious this is not anything like an RPO style. I don't know what we are seeing on the field. Linebackers will grade out horribly and the d line is soft, too.
It doesn't suit you. Analogous to the program, you have surely had many better literary and analytical days than this. Clear your head and improve on the next podcast.
6'7", ~335 pounds with little to zero bad weight. Great pad level, footwork and use of arms. A tape rat with consistent understanding of level 1 and 2 blocking responsibilities across multiple schemes. Nasty demeanor that takes the pancake when it's offered.
That seems most appropriate for OT.
Why does it seem that Michigan can't get the pile of early commitments from the top 150 crowd like Alabama or OSU? I know timing doesn't matter, and we do get traction early with the QB commitments in particular, but ultimately it would seem like building momentum by getting many of them early has a compounding class effect for those other programs. We get our share but it is more of a nail biter position to the finish line rather than a dominance of the race from the start of the process. Am I wrong with this perception?
The Lions need a leadership change from the Lewand, Mayhew regime before they can lure in top NFL coaches. It's been brutal to see the chronic apathy of the team through the years. I blame it on the top.
While the comparison seems a little odd, I suppose if you forced me I would say he is definitely more like Charles Woodson than Dymonte Thomas. I am not sure how either way adds to any wins or losses for Michigan, though.
Just a hypothetical. Why? Social engineering via redirection to do some fact checking on the indirect pieces being assembled.
Whoever it is, I am OK with it, truth or lies. It was fun to read.
It's amazing how comments would even argue this point. This is one of the most influential leadership positions at one of the most prestigious universities AND athletic programs, yet some people will seriously argue that a person with no background or experience in this capacity at any level is the best candidate that the university can obtain on a longer time scale?
Because...wait for it...he ran a company that makes office furniture and played a little football? Those who argue these merits learned nothing from the Dave Brandon tenure. You don't need to risk this and shouldn't because the stakes are too high and there is no upside.
It is completely irrelevant whether or not he might potentially do an OK job as anything more than an interim AD. It would be reckless to roll the dice when you can have many experienced and well qualified candidates who don't have to try to adapt to or learn the dyamics of the role.
I would be pretty angry, because I still want to believe that this football program can be relevant on the national scale. The fact that we have another corporate-minded (interim?) AD with ZERO credible experience for the function is discuraging enough because it shows that the University may not "get it". I am very uncomfortable watching the winningest program approach the defibrillators with its weary fan base who diagnosed the obvious demise and its causes much faster than the inept leadership.
Well said, Brian. It's a shame to see anyone fall from the mountain so close to the peak, especially one of our own. We were all rooting for him just a few moments ago, and now we recoil as if we have zero sympathy. While we all need absolutes, I am glad you note that it's OK to feel dismay. I hope that everyone affected can find the right measure of forgiveness and that the right steps for healing are taken.
