Dileo has the look of a return specialist that can make an impact as an upperclassman in the slot. I would think of him as Steve Breaston light if he develops enough as a wideout. Similar things can be said of 5'8'' Jeremy Gallon in 2012 and 2013. Those two will likely get the majority of the time in the slot and in 4-wide sets (hopefully these don't disappear altogether over time).

That leaves Jeremy Jackson, Jerald Robinson, and Je'Ron Stokes battling for time out wide with whoever Hoke manages to get in 2012 (fingers crossed). Roundtree would return for 2012 as the primary receiver, but there would be a major void in the offense for 2013 with his departure. Adding a strong 4-star type (I'm pulling for Payton, Stanford, or Burbridge) should go a long way in turning what would be a mediocre group into a strength.

The dawn of the Hoke era would be a phenomenal time to find the next great UM receiver ready to earn the #1 jersey, especially looking at our potential 2012-2014 starting QBs with senior Denard, then junior/senior Gardner (medical redshirt please!), and sophomore Morris as the hopeful progression.

Wide Receiver

I'm loving the Mattison recruiting thus far and love the future of the defensive side of the ball and trust that the OL will work itself out closer to signing day, but I remain worried about offense. After we lose Odoms, Hemingway, and Stonum after 2011 and Roundtree and
Stokes after 2012 whats left at WR? Gallon and Dileo have been mostly return men and the likely slots that leaves us with Jerald Robinson and Jeremy Jackson out wide.

Isn't this a highly desirable depth chart for 2012 WRs and with a likely upperclassman Gardner taking snaps in a pro-style offense, shouldn't we be able to get 1 or 2 blue-chip wideouts? It's been too long since Braylon, it's time that finding our next #1 becomes a priority. Hopefully Hoke and Mattison can make this happen, and I'd say that landing a big-time skill player is the last recruiting hurdle that the new staff has yet to prove it can overcome. Fingers crossed for Burbridge and another!
