Always bothers me when people get all high and mighty about an entire fan base. I agree with you that the fan base showing public support for the people that did what they did is an awful thing, but as a whole, I doubt that the PSU fan base is that much different from our own.
In fact I would venture to say that the differences betwen the fan bases of Michigan, Ohio, Penn State, Wiscy, Illinois (intentionally omitting MSU), and some others is really not as great as we make it out to be.
We're all pretty similar groups of people, we just happen to root for different schools. Granted some groups have more bad apples than others, but again, the average fan from any of those schools is not that much different than an average Michigan fan.
I was going to ask "BiSB, what happened in your childhood to make you want to inflict this kind of pain on others?"
And then I realized the events in this post are the very things that happened to all of us that make us want to inflict similar pain on others.
That said, can we do a version of this post where we collect all the bad things that have happened to OSU and Sparty over the past 23 years? It would be much more enjoyable.
It's purely a raw calculation based on what coach is listed in the "recruited by" section for any given recruit. It's hardly updated and in a number of cases no coach's name appears.
Biggest disappointed for me (so far) has been Henne. I was a 100% certain that he was completely underrated in the draft and should have been a first round pick.
Still hoping he turns it around, I absolutely loved his career at Michigan, despite the ups and downs.
Yeah that's a good point, my "facts" are not so much facts, just the feel I've been getting from reading the exact same sources as you.
The one thing that convinces me though is that Dorian Daniels and Anzalone were told to move on. Those are high caliber guys that we would have been lucky to have in any other year where LB wasn't so stocked.
I didn't realize that the old one in Sylvania closed down a couple years ago, that makes me sad.
Those guys used to have this funny commercial (funny in the way a modestly produced local commercial can be) where a guy in Michigan gear accidentally crosses over to the Buckeye side and all hell breaks loose until he crosses back and suddenly everything goes back to normal.
Totally agreed that it would't be pressuring him, but I don't think that's what Hoke is saying in the first place.
As the poster above mentions, we would only take another LB if it was Levenberry. If he doesn't commit, we're done pursuing LBs as we have more pressing needs.
Yeah I don't know why everyone is wasting time feeding the troll on this thread when we should be discussing the FAR more interesting take away from this article:
Luke Fickell is getting paid the same amount as Greg Mattison, and Fick isn't even their sole D-coordinator. Yet another hilariously inept decision by their AD.

Why do some people call them 'Staee'?
Seriously cool story bro, thanks for spreading the love.
Also your life sounds awesome.
MY EYESSSS
I think Gallon was class of 2009, so take away another from that list.
Les Miles banged a coach's wife??
thats okay, i watched all three in their entirety. Thanks man.
Stonum was decent in 2009, right? I remember him taking one back against ND in '09 but not sure if he was consistently good.

If you're doing it right then bacon is dessert.

had to stop reading after the 12:47pm update, my co-workers were beginning to look worried.
Disappointed at the general lack of penis jokes here. I only counted two.
You should have an Indecent Proposal element to this
lot of good stuff missing, but that was still unadulterated awesome.
I would like to get your reaction to a Skrillex song

Am I supposed to seek medical help if goosebumps from this video last >4hours?
I know you put in a lot of work and football knowledge into this post so I apologize that my favorite part of the whole thing was Mike Martin's "Grr!"
LOLed pretty hard at that one.
How often do you picture Urban urinating?
You mean to say our MSU bumblebee special isn't the best M jersey of all time?
Nonsense.
i feel bad :/
Good for him. I'm still hoping for a day when the entire Michigan coaching staff is made up of former Wolverines.
And Brady Hoke is the President of the world.

are you saying recruits aren't like Pokemon?

We still have 10 months (and one HS football season) till signing day. Odds are some of our future favorite recruits aren't on the radar yet.
What sort of black magic is this?
This might be the funniest reply in a thread full of win. I'm dying here.
I actually don't see what you see that I did not see that he did there.
Presumably they consider it interesting because of the new coach.
I see what you did there
Michigan state didn't want them anyway.
"I have an uncle that is REALLY into Disney."
I don't know how to process this statement.
May your surgery be as smooth as Jack Kennedy's rhymes.
I thought the same thing, but then I realized that song is called Better son/daughter or something like that.
how bad this is. Probably still better than anything I could come up with.
Whoaaaa, hold on. There's a guy named Demorea StringFellow?
Forget about stars, I like sorting this class by height.
MSU and Illinois '07 were amazing performances. Not that they necessarily count as "big" games.
This is very unlike him. He's usually pretty bullish in interviews but always tactful about the things he says about other teams and players.
Interesting that both McCain and Obama voters favor Michigan in ratios much greater than the 37-31 overall split.
So...sparty fans don't vote or they vote for Ron Paul?
Re: Hoke, I understand if people are unsure but how do 6% of them disapprove? Blows my mind.
That was my favorite part of the whole interview. No one is f---ing leaving.
Clearly no one can bring themselves to have any kind of opinion about Delaware.
