To my knowledge she does not…

To my knowledge she does not watch them.  She started researching career choices a while back where she could use what she knows she is good at.  Speaking, reading, researching and writing. Enjoys debate and her mock trial group. Trust me, I am sure she does not have a realistic view of the profession, but I also do not think that her opinion of it is Harvey Spector either (I do not believe she is aware of that show). Just trying to help her get the knowledge she needs to make an informed career choice and start her on her way if it sticks.

I am fearful of the OSU…

I am fearful of the OSU receiving core including Stover.  Their run game will need to be respected also which leaves us vulnerable overall I think.  Additionally, I am fearful of JJ's health and the play of our tackles in pass protection.  I think it comes down to McCord playing on this stage.  If he can be rattled by the crowd, the atmosphere, we have a good chance.   I hope most of the students stayed or come back early from break to insure a full student section. I hope the red in the stands is as low as it has been in 30 years. I hope we win the toss, defer and get a stop, score before the half and get the ball.  These couple of things I think will make the difference.  These kids have been through a lot and at some point it is to much to overcome.  In February I jumped on Michigan -1.  Not sure I would take that bet today.  Did just take the over however.  People down play it, but I think Harbaugh not being on the sidelines in the 4th quarter will make a difference, strategy, support, rallying whatever and will call that the difference.

OSU 34

Michigan 28

Sorry. One of my best memories all time with my dad at the game two years ago.  Hoping to replicate it, but setting myself up for disappointment.

The problem is there will…

The problem is there will never be a Michigan Ohio State game like this again. Ever. It will always mean a lot but with 12 teams starting next year in the playoff, it will never be the same. This is the last chance for a game like this. If this was next year, again, an important meaningful game for sure, but the loser doesn’t get a bye but most likely still hosts a playoff game two weeks later. The stakes simply won’t ever be the same. If enough people realize that they won’t sell and demand will remain high and this year at least tickets won’t drop. My opinion of course.

I am good with OSU winning…

I am good with OSU winning. Selfishly, I want to beat an undefeated Ohio St in the snow again on November 25th. That will be the most fun scenario and maximize the experience that day for me and my pops again.

My dad and myself have…

My dad and myself have season tickets together. He has had his for over 40 years and I took over his second ticket which historically was my moms even though I usually went with him. My mom used mine this past weekend and I went up north with my family. During the game I played the audio over my phone and kayaked around the lake with my wife and then each of my kids separately while I heard cheers from other cabins who forked out the money for peacock. I was tempted, it wasn’t the money, but a little bit of principle I guess, but the alternative was so much better. Covid removed sports from my life like everyone else during that time and I learned I could live without it being such a serious part of my life. Michigan football is the one think I held onto strongest because of my degree and the family history of games that I passed on to my son. I am not going again this weekend, we gave both tickets to my sister and Bowling Green will be my first of the year, with my son, not my dad. I never thought there would be a time when I wouldn’t have tickets, but if the game experience continues to deteriorate I can see the possibility. I never thought anything could replace a Saturday in Ann Arbor, but the networks and financial greed (which I understand, it a business and push it as far as you think you can when you are trying to make money) are pushing me closer to stepping back. I hope I don’t, but I missed the first game of the year for the first time in a very very long time, and the lake, the radio and the family was better.

Yes. This.

Yes. This.

Oil change on the wife’s car…

Oil change on the wife’s car. Grocery shopping with her and taking groceries to her parents. Culver’s to make my daughter happy because she’s pissed that It’s her brothers turn to go to the game (who by the way, never, never lies to us but I know is hiding being sick right now). Heading to Ann Arbor at 3:30 with him. Eat some sandwiches and argue with him about taking his coat into the game. Enjoy the game, have him fall asleep on the way home while I enjoy the post game. Have him admit to being sick tomorrow morning and get blamed for having him out in the cold. It will be worth it.

Moving my family from a large school district with 2800 kids in the high school to a rural community in the thumb with about 60 in a graduating class.  Moving from teaching high school to being the elementary principal and my wife will be one of my teachers.  My kids tried it out in the spring and claim to be much happier in a smaller school. It's a big leap but I'm hoping to slow life down a little in a smaller community.  The big move is next weekend and then a couple weeks of touching up before football.  The only bummer is a two hour drive to Ann Arbor instead of one.

Got my son a Michigan…

Got my son a Michigan Hutchinson and now a LIons Hutchinson from DHGATE.  Have multiple other jerseys from there.  Always at least good with minor flaws and sometimes amazingly good.  It will take a good 3-6 weeks to arrive, however.

For us it was true to size. …

For us it was true to size.  It is hit and miss with DHGate.  I've got good stuff and so-so stuff. This jersey was excellent.

I was able to order one for…

I was able to order one for my son from dhgate.  It is a knock off but could not find one for him and he desperately wanted one.  Has a jumpman (won't show it on the pictures but it does come with one), stitched name and numbers, big10 patch, and is stitched great.  Took 5 weeks to get here though and that was in September $30.

Who would get the money for…

Who would get the money for round 1 home games for team #5-#8.  Selfishly, would you want to be the #5 seed?  Attending a playoff game in the snow vs a #12 SEC team would be fun vs getting a bye at #4.  Yes I know it's an extra game, but I wish a plan would also reward the #1-#4 teams with a second-round home game if that was possible.

Excellent!!

Excellent!!

Desperately hoping for a 70/30 split at worst.  Hoping a lot of students return Friday simply to be at the game.  I can hope.

Mowing the lawn today and…

Mowing the lawn today and finally breaking down and playing my Michigan playlist through my earbuds again nice and loud gave me a minute to think. Had you told me that on August 1st  Michigan would be #7 in the playoff picture on November 4th I would have taken it. Last week stings, but damn it we have one loss, it sucked and will sting for a while, but I will not let it ruin this nice ride we are on.  Going to go with what I want and call it my prediction!  Michigan 45 Indiana 10.  They come out focused and clearly ready to fight on.  They let me know that they have moved on also and can get up for a home game with all goals still possible.  Make me confident that Penn State is a realistic chance for a win and that I can dream about a party in the Big House on November 27th long after the clock hits 0:00 in the 4th! Just call me Mr.Brightside!

GO BLUE!

Win: Beg, beg, beg Michigan…

Win: Beg, beg, beg Michigan fans not to sell their Ohio State tickets!!!

Lose: Accept that I will still go to the Ohio State game and cheer the boys on but with a lot fewer friends around me.

I am a teacher and will be…

I am a teacher and will be keeping my kids home.  One of the biggest reasons that I keep hearing to send kids face to face is the return to normal for them, mental health.  I promise you, the classroom that kids, especially younger kids, return to will not do much to ease them mentally.  Teachers in masks, behind plexiglass, not being able to play at recess with friends in other classes, sitting alone on the bus, most likely being subject to quarantine off and on at some point will provide everything but normalcy. If you truly believe sending your kids to school is going to help them mentally then great, but I hope you do not think it will be anywhere near what it was in February in terms of a face to face experience.

Assuming none of us get to…

Assuming none of us get to see the MSU game in the Big House this year because of limited seating or no game altogether, it will be twice that Michigan will go three years between home games vs. MSU when they get the home game we should have next year.  I don't like it.

Is it possible that the co…

Is it possible that the co-coordinator label was added just to protect him from having to pay back 200% of his salary to Michigan per his Michigan contract?

Looks like winnings on sports bets and poker will be taxed at 20-28%.  You need to win 70% of your bets to break even.  Good luck.

Here's to hoping the student…

Here's to hoping the student section is 75% filled at game time (if you stayed in town for this you might as well be on time) and 90% filled for the game.  Here's to hoping the stadium is less then 20% red. Please, Please, Please!!  Here's to those of us in the stands embracing the weather as ambiance and leaving with no voices and smiles on our faces.

The days of making much, if…

The days of making much, if anything significant back from selling your tickets are done.  Roll in my seat license fee and a Stubhub fee and it just isn't happening.  Especially after basically overpaying for other games relevant to grabbing cheap stubhub tickets for games like Rutgers and Middle Tennessee.  The fact that almost 5,000 tickets are available on stubhub right now if frustrating.  Just once I want to see minimal red in the stands.  Maybe if Ohio State wins and their fan base interest in "The Game" wanes and Michigan fans hope grows 80% of those 5,000 tickets turn blue.  I can hope.

Section 43 Row 61.  Many…

Section 43 Row 61.  Many years ago (can't recall how long) they put handicapped seating about 10 rows in front of us.  Everyone generally sits most of the game except when the "team needs us" :)  On occasion when you have some people who don't generally sit in that area randomly stand when no one is standing in front of them, probably habit from other areas of the stadium.  Some one will generally say something after a few downs, politely, never an issue.

I agree, observe your…

I agree, observe your surroundings.  My 8 year old son has every right to enjoy the game with out the drunk who smuggled in his flask berating the players and refs with f-bombs.  Unless of course we have trouble with the snap again next week, my son may join you in your obscenities then, but really, a family shouldn't have to worry about exposing their children to R rated language on a fall afternoon in Ann Arbor.

There are two guys that have…

There are two guys that have seats 4 seats to our right that wear Michigan gear every game and then show up in Buckeye gear every time.  They have done so for 30 years.

I said this in another…

I said this in another thread but it bares repeating.  The fact that MSU returned tickets speak volumes.  I would love to see minimal green in the stadium next Saturday.  My plea, leave your Sparty friend at home PLEASE don't bring them because they are your best friend.  Don't bring your Sparty spouse because you think it is cute to be dressed as rivals at the game.  Find someone maize and blue to bring.

So ready to hopefully watch…

So ready to hopefully watch a big beat down of Sparty,  Here is my wish.  Obviously MSU did not sell all of their allotment of tickets, which is why some became available.  I wish for all Michigan ticket holders to keep their tickets.  I don't care if your best friend is a Sparty, DO NOT BRING THEM, tell your Sparty spouse to stay home too.  Find someone else to take  As little green in that place as possible.
