Guys, as an outsider this seems like a whole "forest from the trees" sort of thing. You're die hard fans of U of M football and you can't see it. Something's clearly going on with the team dynamic here. The obvious answer is that Harbaugh is leaving. I don't know how much more obvious it has to get before it's announced.
The report had several findings of fact that demonstrated the BOT could fire Meyer if they wanted to. He was asked by the AD to fire Smith, but refused. He likely erased text messages. He likely lied about a meeting with CS in 2009. He didn't tell OSU about 2009 issue before they hired ZS. He permitted ZS to no show at schools, show up late for practice, and skip out of drug rehab after only 3 days. So yeah, there's a multitude of reasons for firing ZS a long time ago. And plenty of reasons to fire Meyer as well. Basically the investigators looked at did Meyer lie during the media days. They found a whole bunch of other evidence to say Meyer should be fired, but they found that he didn't lie at the media days. So the BOT looked at the report and said, "Cool he didn't lie." The investigators said, "Um yeah, but all this other stuff?" The BOT said, "Cool, he didn't lie. Let's do the press conference." It was epic level stupid.
I think we'll have to see if what CS produced will be evidence or not. The court will decide that. All the evidence that has been allowed as evidence so far has led to zero charges. That's all I was saying. Yes, ZS is a terrible person and he cheated on his wife with a married woman in the OSU athletic department in 2015. The records will show that the department staff all knew about her issues as well as the affair. All of the evidence will show that Meyer did not knowingly harbor an abuser on staff, but the records will show that he knowingly harbored a complete a hole on his staff.
OSU isn't going to go victim blaming. The evidence that's released will relay the truth re CS's behavior since 2015 and it will show that OSU went out of their way to not drag her through the mud. Sorry to disappoint you, but this isn't going to be a DV issue. This is an issue about a football coach who was completely inept at nearly every aspect of life and was enabled in his douchery by Meyer.

And Meyer should have been fired for bringing him to OSU. I think the report made that pretty clear. I don't know how the BOT read the section regarding the 2009 incident and didn't fire him.

Just to set the record straight I'm not defending Meyer. I would have fired him. But I'm pretty sure that comments like the one you made are exactly why the BOT said f off we're not firing him. It's an ignorant comment, because, literally, all of the people with the facts do not believe that CS was a victim. That's not the issue. But the media wanted to push it and the BOT wasn't having it. Neither were they going to drag her through the mud publicly. The facts about CS and what the university knew- it was well known in the athletic department that she was mental- will come out next week and then you're going to see the truth about that and I sort of feel bad for her. Also remember that this a hugely political monster. The governor came out in support of Meyer. All of the BOT are appointed by the governor. And the way the media handled the whole thing was pretty garbage and I think they were pissed about that, because they know the truth about CS but weren't going to drag her through mud. I'm not sure Bruce's family knew about that meeting.? That's my best guess. Hiram is a retired oil big wig that befriended Meyer during his Florida days. Last I heard he was teaching some sort of low level management course- can't remember what course it was. I heard a couple of the OSU fans who took the course say he seemed like a nice sort of grandpa type of guy. Whatever. He's definitely a pressure guy in that situation. I really think the investigative team hated that meeting. Lots of OSU fans are overlooking the deplorable nature of that meeting. Fear level against MSU and PSU are too high. You should have won against MSU last two years so I get that you're gun shy. But there'e no way they are beating you this year. Not a chance. My fear level for that game is about a 3. PSU= meh. Can their defense keep them in the game against MI? I don't think so. Your offense will be greatly improved- PSU offense is going to suck, especially against your D. My fear level is 5. Wisconsin is your biggest threat because they might have the O line and running back to absolutely kill the clock. You're going to have to be super efficient on offense, a task which you should be able to accomplish. I see the wheels coming off the OSU wagon somewhere down the line, most likely at PSU. TCU won't be a good test because they're missing their beast of a d lineman for that game. I think all the fear levels will drop after ND.
Answer to 5 was out yesterday- Powell police said it was 3 days not 3 years. The investigative team asked all the questions you guys are asking. It will come out in the next couple weeks and Meyer will be fired before he comes back from suspension.

Reading between the lines it was obvious that the team felt Meyer was untruthful about what happened in 2009 and that CS was pressured to drop charges. The report made clear that there were issues with the text messages. The team was very clear with questioning why Meyer kept Smith on staff, especially when the AD wanted him fired. All of the evidence the team had will start being released today to at least one reporter. And I believe there's an upcoming court date with Zach and Courtney.
It will be more nuanced than most of you would like though, because the evidence will show CS is unhinged. And I think the BOT was kind to not report that. I think the evidence will point back to 2009 as the incident that set this all in motion. It enabled ZS and put CS in a corner where she felt no one would listen to her. There won't be anything damning against Meyer, but there will be enough that the university just won't want to deal with it any more. He'll be coaching against you again next year, but it will be from South Bend rather than Columbus. I think the roles are about to be reversed. OSU is headed for a 10 year decline. Yeah Buckeye fan. But love the big picture of cfb. I was intrigued by all the people picking notre dame to beat you guys, and when I looked into it I just couldn't see that happening. They lose so much on offense and their qb is borderline terrible. Then I started looking at MSU and PSU and it's the same story. They're declining and you guys are rising. I'm not confident that Meyer will be coaching by the time OSU plays MI so that leaves some room for MI to have a huge game at the shoe. My big concern for MI is that they don't melt down if they do lose to ND. Even if you guys lose to ND you can still make play offs if you keep the wheels from falling off the bus.
I think MI crushes ND in week 1 and from there the train starts rolling. MI gets better on offense in key positions of QB and O line this year. I don't see anyone beating you guys until OSU and I think that's a crap shoot call right now. MI is really the only team in the BIG that's going to get noticeably better this year. MSU offense is terrible and they did nothing to get better. PSU loses huge production and a critical position coach. Wisconsin they have an O line but I don't see their qb beating you. They won't run on you. This could be the year for you guys. Not sure I like saying that, but with the mess at OSU might as well cheer for Harbaugh this year.
Long time OSU fan here. That presser was crap. The whole thing is crap. I think, at least I hope, Urban will be fired before his suspension is completed. The 2009 incident with the pressure applied by two of his closest friends is complete garbage. If someone did that to my daughter, then I would be breaking some knee caps. Not all of us OSU fans are brainwashed by the crap.
