I am mega-bummed he didn't go to the Lions. I am convinced of all the 2024 draft eligible Wolverines he will be in the NFL for 10+ years as a plus starter.
It's been a great fall to be a UM/Lions fan - which hasn't really happened in my lifetime. Especially since both teams are just absolutely loaded with lovable, good dudes. I'm soaking it all in & trying to savor it - Go Lions!!
Feels bitchy to comment complaining after we came out as NATIONAL CHAMPS!!!
But I can't help but feel frustrated by the tone that Rece Davis took in his post-game interview on SportsCenter (I know, ESPN & all)
He said that:
The *blindingly obvious* holding penalty that called back the Odunze catch (not even a TD, just got them down the RZ if uncalled) was the only moment he thought Washington was getting back for a great finish; then called the penalty 'Ticky-tack'
Agreed that Twitter is "calling out a hell of a lot of uncalled holding on UM" (Is twitter now a verifiable media source?)
"I don't think there's an asterisk, but there is a subtitle... In some quarters, there'll always be a subtitle. UM needed this win, they have the all time winning record, but they needed this win"
Rece Davis goes out of his way to only point out the hold that he claims shouldn't have been called (was obvious as fuck) lol - like I'm fine if you say the refs missed some holds on UM (they did - refs miss like 200 holds a game haha) - but do you really have to bitch about the one that was called because the dude was beat so definitely that holding was his only chance to not give up a free run to the QB?
Why is the coverage slowing down multiple potential UM penalties to highlight them when they haven't done that one single time for UW? Like there have been multiple things that could have easily been called on both teams, but they're only highlighting the one side... Just strange
Only 7 minutes in, but real bad vibes so far. Feels like we could easily be down way bigger - we might need someone to be really hot off the bench (15+ points) to win tonight
I don't think he's bothered, he's just saying it's just extremely unlikely we get 11 draft eligible starters/major contributors back, even if they technically still have eligibility haha
MU Safety gave a hard shove (Not quite a punch, but a forcable blow) to Trente Jone's chin - Trente also embellished it a little bit to sell the call haha
Taulia is definitely not a better QB than JJ, but he's playing significantly better. Why? Because they called some easy passes & got him into a fucking rhythm. It's really not that fucking hard to do - I will never understand why we are allergic to it
That tush push play is so dumb, because even if you do stop them, the refs have no freaking idea when forward momentum is actually stopped because the QB is just in the middle of a mass of bodies. I feel more confident that he was in on this latest one, but the one in the first half it sure seemed like his momentum was stopped
According to sources, Connor Stallions has taken up a new identity as part of the commentators crew & is now operating as the ringleader of a vast network of sign-interpreters attempting to decipher the PG taking the ball up the court:

WHY THE FUCK DOES ONE HORESSHIT CALL COST US 2 GOALS.
First the red wings, now this. I am convinced that hockey refs fucking hate hockey at their core

Home court advantage for the Illini 🤡

To be fair, we have gotten away with a couple as well haha
This defense deserves so, so, so much better
how the fuck is the announcer confused by that holding call lmfao
Offense & Special Teams are so FUCKING EMBARRASSING on this kind of stage

Is JJ fucking stupid or are QB reads just coached out of this team?... Absolutely fucking incredible
If they don't run JJ or bare minimum roll him out at least once on this drive, we're throwing the game. It literally doesn't make sense any other way
How many times can we piss down our own leg before I learn not to get hyped for a "goal game" against someone not in the B10. This hurts big time
That's just blocking - Offensive linemen at every level do that like 20+ times a game lol
I think he more slipped than actually meant to slide
That punter might not even have a leg anymore, that looked absolutely brutal. Thoughts & prayers
Hook em
Ok cool
Hook em
I think I'm tapping out at halftime tonight... Just genuinely hard to watch on every level so far
I am eternally optimistic haha
At least Juwan had experience under Spoelstra ... On paper, he should be much better than Hoke.
There is a tiny sliver of me that is holding out hope that Juwan is adjusting to the Portal era, but it's on life support to say the least
So far, it's leaning good by a fairly large margin. Game is rough so far
Juwan might be basketball Hoke, which genuinely hurts to admit...

Scorekeeper might be struggling even more than our defense, which is saying a lot haha
Having to watch on Peacock kind of sucks, but I'm here!
Tarris has been really struggling lately - would love to see him get going
Do a helmet sticker tier list for your next post
For course maybe stop drinking for the night bud
The clown emoji response for the most milquetoast criticism of your post is wild hahahaha

Take a deep breath my guy
…
You're totally right
It is way too early.
MU Safety gave a hard shove (Not quite a punch, but a forcable blow) to Trente Jone's chin - Trente also embellished it a little bit to sell the call haha
Also, the dude Keegan was blocking had both of his hands basically up his nose lol - should have been illegal hands to the face
Really? Out of the shotgun? Even if it worked, I hate that lol
DOMAN THE SHOWMAN
RPS about to be negative 90 this week
Let's run 3 dives & punt again!!!
Giving him progress to the two yard line was.... Uhhhh... Generous
Taulia is definitely not a better QB than JJ, but he's playing significantly better. Why? Because they called some easy passes & got him into a fucking rhythm. It's really not that fucking hard to do - I will never understand why we are allergic to it
fuck that 3rd down call right in the ass
Semaj has been dangerously close to turning a first down into a 3rd & short twice now - gotta coach him up to not juke backwards
Wait, ankle = down according to Klatt?
Edit: Just showed the elbow haha
Sherrone knows we're allowed to pass the ball before there's 2 minutes left in the half, right?
Embarrassing sequence on a very important drive

You can tell he's right - the more emojis you use the more factual your statements are.
Norman Burton went crazy

don't care lol
We have wildly different memories of the 21-22 season then haha
(Edit - to be fair, he was better than Jett or HD)
