Logged in to call this one out.  This song got me through a lot of heartbreak with my first girlfriend in high school.  Taught me to overcome things that don’t go my way.

Thank you David Coverdale and thanks to Windycityblue for this thread.

So many great movies already…

So many great movies already mentioned.  The one that comes to mind that I didn't see on any posts is Career Opportunities.  A young Jennifer Connelly...all that needs to be said.

One other is Weekend at Bernies. Just watched that with my 16 year old daughter and she found it funny.  Hard to amuse kids these days so nice to see some of the silly movies still hold up.

I wish I had time to aggregate all of these posts to come up with one awesome list.  For sure I will have to bookmark this thread.

Watching Collins and Bufkin…

Watching Collins and Bufkin work the floor together last night was a very positive turn of events for this team. I have yet to see an opposing player match the speed of Collins and while he has been equal parts exciting/out of control for much of the season, I thought last night he was a difference-maker as Rutgers struggled to match up with him.  Very exciting to see the future of these young guys.  Hope they mature enough to get into the Tourney this year and gain that experience.

Is it time for a full drive…

Is it time for a full drive from McCarthy? Just to keep msu off pace?

The UM/MSU “punt” game was…

The UM/MSU “punt” game was ridiculously quiet walking out. Even saw 2 state fans doing a silent high-five walking down the stairs.  Everyone was just stunned.

I graduated with a BGS…

I graduated with a BGS. Others are correct, the only difference was the language requirement. I was able to have more flexibility in my degree and ended up following an Individual Concentration Program (ICP) path.

I did go back to school for my masters in information systems and I've been a C-level exec for the past 6 years. I know friends from UofM that have some similar stories of "moderate" accomplishments at michigan but have been very successful in their careers.

Ultimately, most companies don't care as much about the degree type past your first job, unless it is more of an expert degree like engineering.

A degree, from a school like michigan, is always going to be worth more than no degree. It is up to him what he does with it from there and how he manages his career, but one step at a time.

Hope that helps a little. Wish him (and you) the best.

Fuck these coaches. Don…

Fuck these coaches. Don brown needs to go.

 Couple weeks ago, I dropped…

Couple weeks ago, I dropped my daughter off for her freshman year at Alabama. Here was my experience:

Impressed with the level of rigor and precautions. Signage everywhere, masks being worn by many students outside, and by all people inside. Sanitizer filling stations in all common areas.

All students had to be tested before coming onto campus and we had to submit proof. This was asked for multiple times at move in.

Classes are largely online and those that aren't are distanced seating.

Admittedly, the campus was not highly populated yet and I am sure that keeping a student body with 30000 students to a high level of diligence is challenging to almost impossible.

Just last week, additional restrictions were put on the Greek system.

My opinion, as a tuition-paying parent is that the school is taking all reasonable actions to try to have a "normal" semester.  I was skeptical before I went but I am comfortable with what is being done. I dont know that it will be enough to keep kids on campus, and for sure there will be kids who don't take precautions, but that's not exclusively a college phenomenon.

Just thought I would share my first hand account.

I'm in agreement with a lot…

I'm in agreement with a lot of others here that this staff has some structural issues with their game plans, specifically when facing opponents with equal or greater talent.

The D for sure has shown that in multiple years and I'm not sure Don Brown is ready for that big a change in what he does .  It's clear that high talent teams can take advantage of his scheme's so he has to evolve .

The O has similar issues when they cannot exploit a talent edge.

ND is probably our best benchmark where we can hope that a certain class or two really come together and our talent outshines everyone in a given season. The sustained yearly success of AL or OSU is just not who we are.

The shine is off of Don…

The shine is off of Don brown. 3rd down is a huge issue for this team and has been all year . This is just frustrating.

My avatar pic is my dog. His…

My avatar pic is my dog. His name is Brady. Brady joined the family right after our former coach Brady Hoke took the team to an 11-2 record. What other choice did I have but to name my dog after the coach that restored Michigan football?

I even remember a friend and Michigan alum suggesting Yost or Bo but why would I do that when we had the next great coach?

It's a reminder to always take your time before making a decision. Good thing is Brady is a much better dog than his namesake was coach.

Very nice hint .

Very nice hint .

Youre right, some suburban…

Youre right, some suburban types never set foot in the city.  I worked in both and lived in both, before kids. Parents and grandparents lived in Detroit and I've had the opportunity to spend a lot of time growing up in the city .  Just an opinion based on my perspective .

I lived in the Detroit…

I lived in the Detroit suburbs most of my life and now live in the Chicago suburbs.  I've spent a lot of time in the downtown cores of both cities and there is a very stark difference that no one can deny.  Chicago is a world-class city, yes, still with issues (schools, public safety), but still a very desirable place to be and can compare with any major city, other than weather.

Detroit is at best a mid-market city that saw 40+ years of continual decline.  It cannot compete with mature cities in what it has to offer, but that doesn't mean it is without promise or merit, even at this stage of re-development.

The progress in the past 5-7 years there has been remarkable.  I lot of good posts here about the areas that are being developed and the money flowing in.  One thing I didn't yet read is the opportunity Detroit has for the "up and comers".  It is a place of opportunity for business owners, especially when compared to mature cities like Chicago.  Try opening a new restaurant in Chicago and get people to notice.  In Detroit, you can do this and get front page news.  Just an example.

If you are someone looking to be more of a creator or innovator, doing that in a place where ideas can turn to reality quickly is the benefit of a place like Detroit now.  You can honestly feel like part of a turn-around, if that's what interests you.  For those that just want to live, work and consume (btw, no judgement here as I would fall more into this category) then there are plenty of other options.

To be fair, Beilein was also…

To be fair, Beilein was also on the court for a bit at the end to help adjust our guys into position.   He wasn't on all fours like a dog, but was about 3 steps in the court for at least 5 seconds.  I remember thinking that we might get a foul because if it.  Luckily we did not.

I know this will make me…

I know this will make me sound negative, but I dumped my hotel reservation right after halftime and sold my tickets yesterday.  Very disappointing to not be able to enjoy what many other fanbases have been able to.

That is just an awesome…

That is just an awesome picture.

He even looks back at the marker. I'd say "unbelievable" but sadly, it's not .
