Wilson/Wagner NBA decisions

Submitted by ijohnb on

They sure are taking their sweet time about this.  I get it, it is an important decision and they should take their time, but wouldn't both know by this point what they are going to do?  Are there any workouts left?  I don't recall really many of these decisions being made at the last possible second, so I am getting a little concerned that "no news is very bad news" here.  I would have at least expected Wagner to withdraw his name at this point, given the feedback he has allegedly received.

Starting to get a little up against it now, and I am surprised we have not heard anything.  Is there any recent news that I don't feel like browsing for, good or bad?

It is, and no I have not.  But anything that gives money to alums of my favorite late-80s/early-90s shows gets my approval.

If I was either of them I would leave as much time as possible to talk with various teams and learn everything I could.  Even if I had already determined I was coming back.

The nice thing about this evaluation process is that folks like Wagner and Wilson get valuable input and contacts for free.  Why not maximize that?

I think both will be back. Wagner for sure, I think Wilson has a chance to be one of the last few picks in the first round but I don't think he will be confident enough in that to stay in the draft. He won't get a guarantee from any team, so I assume he will play it safe and try to play another year here to improve his stock. I do think that Wilson wants to go to the NBA more than Wagner does.

If Utah changes their mind, what does that guarantee get you?

Plus, if you're Utah's GM, are you really going to publicly tell your competitors who you want and where you plan to take him?  That would be ...(searching for mild language)... ill-advised.

Utah's guarantee plus a buck-fifty will get DJ a diet coke for his plane ride to Europe.

If they come back, great. If not, best of luck to the both of them.

These are young kids making what is the most important decision of their young lives right now. They'll take as much time as they need. I don't blame them waiting to see what they can find out.

Your post is telling a couple of kids to essentially hurry up about their biggest life decision.

Not rocket science why you are being downvoted.

need to go hit a heavy bag a couple of times or something.

That is not what I was telling them to do and you're ridiculous response is way over the top.

You are impatient and want an answer. Not that tough to figure this out.

just don't get you.  You are cool at times and a complete horse's ass other times, and there is never any rhyme or reason to it.  I literally say in the sentence you have quoted "they should take their time," word for word.

You are all making it into "how dare you try to infringe on the rights of these fine young scholar athletes.  How dare you I say!"

Seriously, lighten up.  Take a Xanax, run a lap.  Whatever works for you when you are having one of your  "happy days," you should do that now.

IS a horses ass. But here he is clearly right. You're the one who posted a thread bitching about them taking their sweet time, then got all offended when Leo called you out. Sometimes a guy just gives a bad look. This is one of those times for you.

That's because this is a shitty thread. You have no information on a topic that has been discussed numerous times and we'll be getting a decision from both of them within the next 3 days. Don't blame us for you starting a concern troll post. Why didn't you just start a Peters vs Speight post?

a post to discuss something, anything, aside from the Ford CEO.  I haven't really been on here a lot in the last week and I wanted to hear some thoughts, see some takes.

Very sorry if that offended you to such a degree.

Hope they both find success.  Hopefully, it's back in the Maize n Blue.  Will be glad to finally know once and for all so JB can start preparing next season's lineup.

is waiting for Wilson so they announce together that they are coming back. There's a Chatman comment out there (saw it UM. Hoops) that makes it sound like DJ could be gone.

about them exploring their NBA options. Chatman said something about them always knew it was going to happen. And Wilson replied that tough roads lead to beautiful places.

I feeel the same way about this as recruiting.  This is one of the biggest decisions of their lives.  I would take as much time as I possibly had weighing out everything to make sure I made the right one.  Wilson really wants the NBA, but I believe  he realizes he needs another year and both come back.

Both are projected with a chance to get first-round money/guarantee.  Risk if you come back, but if you perform, I would expect both could be mid-first rounders.  Hope they stay
