Would you say Accelerating at a decreasing rate? Or decelerating? Personally, I'd say the former. Still positive momentum but with a little less gusto.

I don't think next year looms large. I think that Harbaugh has already elevated Michigan to having a hard floor of an 8-5 record. That is a vast improvement over the 8-10 year period prior to his hire. Fans want to say he is here to only win championships, but that is false. He is here to fix Michigan. Once we are in that place, championships will come, most likely by his hand.
Another 10-3 year with a 2nd/3rd place finish in the division would be far from a failure. It might just be the final brick laid down before we can go onto bigger/better things.

with a winning record (including a rival that went 3-9 with off-season meltdown) was like a fat man sitting on the brake lever this season.
The bowl loss to SC has ground this program to a halt.
Right direction? "Check"

What could possibly be nicer than finishing with 69 points in a basketball game? Hell, even the Refs were nice enough to ensure that we did!

is he an SDE or DT? seems light for an NT
January 10th, 2018 at 12:50 PM ^
He's rated as a DT but I believe he's more likely to end up as a SDE. That's how OSU is recruiting him at least. Not sure how Michigan is recruiting him.
January 10th, 2018 at 1:25 PM ^
then he's not what we need - we have a ton of SDE types - we need interior DL

He says as if there are no long term trolls here...
Jim Harbaugh may have been outrecruited by Urban Meyer. But then that's true of everyone except for Alabama.
If you thought Jim was outcoached by Meyer, however, I kindly suggest that you re-watch the games, particularly this year's version.
January 10th, 2018 at 12:41 PM ^
since OSU lines up 4 DEs on obvious passing downs.
That sure will enhance his developement and draft stock!

I'm not giving up yet. He's releasing an announcement video this week and UM still leads in CB picks. Looks like most of the picks have been from OSU guys. Maybe they just like their chances and the guys are putting in their picks before the video is released? If the UM guys all flip their picks to OSU, then I'll give up but until then, I'm still expecting him to announce for the good guys.

It's now 61% OSU to 28% U-M. Perhaps the person / people making the video leaked out his decision. Not a good sign at all unfortunately.
January 10th, 2018 at 1:12 PM ^
I stand corrected. I thought we were at 63% and didn't see Wiltfong's pick. Thanks for the info. Now I can just assume he's gone and if he does pick us then it will be a nice surprise.

Remember when the insiders were "confident" we would land 2/3 of our DT targets.
Whelp.
Bye Friday. Bye Sandidge. Bye M Thompson (even though we stopped recruiting for whatever reason).
There is no excuses for this. OSU's plan C and clearly our Plan A for 2 years, still lose out.
January 10th, 2018 at 1:55 PM ^
Untill we start winning B1G championships and reaching the playoffs we are going to lose out to the teams that do. The talented kids want to join a team that has a chance to win a NC. They're looking at our program and making a decision that we are not even close. Next season may be a bit better but we'll probably have to wait until 2019, so our 2020 class should be great!
January 10th, 2018 at 2:14 PM ^
Friday, sure.
But Ricky Sandige to SC is a national title contender (before we lost to them so that has no factor.)
And Mizzou is a national title contender? Just trying to understand your logic. We lose kids to schools that are not title contenders all the time.

He was the guy I wanted most in this class! Looks like OSU missing on some kids last month opened a spot for him. The a 5* DT and 2 4* DT already in this class, that's gross!
Need a little Harbaugh comeback magic here!
January 10th, 2018 at 12:50 PM ^
I think the magic is running low currently. This is where we see what kind of coach he really is.
January 10th, 2018 at 12:55 PM ^
Need to win some games next year. Or really just close out games we are ahead in. He did get Shea, and that was the position we needed the most. Now need to fix Oline.
January 10th, 2018 at 12:47 PM ^
And Brandon Brown just had an article yesterday stating Friday is likely to end up at Michigan LOL
"It's LIKELY that Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep four-star strongside defensive end ends up committing to Michigan.
The 6-3, 260-pounder is as quiet as they come but more and more buzz is building around him eventually committing to the Wolverines. As the No. 64 overall player in the country, Friday is extremely talented and with his build, he would compliment defensive linemen Aidan Hutchinson and Julius Welschof well."

Isaiah Hole also put in a CB to OSU. If Wiltfong is the fat lady, Hole is the nail in the coffin. Word must be leaking out of NJ that he is going to OSU. Sucks.
January 10th, 2018 at 1:36 PM ^
Brandon Brown is an idiot.
January 10th, 2018 at 12:50 PM ^
Urban Meyer outclassing us in every possible way. Unless you grow up rooting for UM I can't see why you wouldn't pick Ohio State right now even for an area like Bergen County NJ that usually favors us

IDK, where can you go when you're already in the dumpster?? Smaller, more nasty dumpster?
January 10th, 2018 at 12:53 PM ^
Even the lower level D1 schools are getting there fair share of 4* kids w the occasional 5* committ.
Mind baffling.....
January 10th, 2018 at 12:53 PM ^
Can't blame him. Choosing between a title contender and a team that is projected to finish fourth in it's own division next year? Yep, if I'm a recruit with no prior loyalties, I know where I'd rather go.
Michigan is MAYBE the 5th best team in its own conference right now. MSU, PSU, Wisconsin are all better options right now, and OSU has been skating circles around us for years. It's a shame that one bad year has almost undone all the progress Harbaugh made in restoring the program's image, but it is what it is. You're only as good as your last win.
