We've talked a lot recently about the prospect of southern teams coming up north (or chickening out of that prospect), so let's look at an example of that from Mike Kenn's senior season...

By the 1990s, the Aggies would leave the Southwest Conference for the Big XII, which they would remain in until 2011 when they jumped to the SEC.

Thanks WH – and as always, enjoy!

Thanks for those Keith Jackson film clips (he repeatedly called us the "Wolves").

I hadn't seen this film until now.  I was at that game, my first year of season tickets after seeing about a half dozen home games from '74 thru '76 but I forgot about it being a 7-3 score at the half before it turned into a blowout in the 2nd half.

Then it's unanimous in northern Kent County: Mike Kenn is definitely an all-time great Michigan tackle.

There was a very short-lived thread a couple weeks ago about Kenn that was removed by Seth before I ever saw it---Seth had posted in the mod sticky that he removed the "Mike Kenn" thread. I'm assuming because "Justin Feagin" reasons?

Kenn's OL teammates Mark Donahue and Walt Downing were All-Americans in 1977, while Kenn was "just" All-Conference.

Those honors had little relation to their NFL careers, though—Donahue played just two years in the NFL, and Downing played six years in the league.

Kenn played 17 years with the Falcons, was a 5-time Pro Bowler, a five-time first or second-team All Pro, and started all 251 NFL games in which he played. He holds the Falcons' franchise record for games started and games played.
