This is starting to smell like a coaching change....

Last year of contract. Recruiting flips. Not much energy from the coaching staff. Weird stuff with Bob Schoop. I'm no insider, but somethings not quite right here......

Maybe its time?  Harbaugh just aint getting it done when it matters...This was one of the most disappointing losses of his tenure and were staring at a losing record

Nothing is happening now, regardless of what the end of the season will bring.  I am frustrated, but I just hope the team comes into next game pissed off and carries that fire through the rest of the season.  There is so much youth that there is a good chance the improvement will be substantial.

Though this place is certainly an echo chamber for the fire Harbaugh crowd usually, this is starting to feel like 2014 Hoke in a way - obviously he hasn’t killed his QB yet, but the same energy is around this program again it feels.

If they do fire him, I hope they don’t pull the trigger until season’s end but start back channeling to potential coaches. Make it a “mutual separation” after the game. I doubt he’ll be the hot commodity people think he is, but he’ll land somewhere probably.

He’s been a good coach. He came very close to turning everything around in only his second year, but simply can’t get over the hump. He rebuilt the team with solid recruits - even if some areas are lagging. He also got the team back to winning football. Did it go how people expected? No. But he was a massive improvement from Hoke and Rodriguez, who combined for 1 good season (2011) over 7 miserable years.

Harbaugh is our Kirk Ferenz.  Mediocrity followed by an 10 or 11 win season every 8-10 years and a loss in a big bowl. Always 3rd place-ish. Average about 8.5 wins. Just accept it. Find other joys in life. Learn to be pleasantly surprised by good results. Don't expect them.  Be happy just to have opportunities. We can be the kings of consolation prizes and moral victories while riding on our pride as a historical program that shaped CFB 100 years ago.  It's not so bad.

LOL.  Kirk Ferenz?  Actually, you just described the annual performance Bo, Mo, and Lloyd.  Harbaugh has brought us back to our traditional records.  It just that those guys fared better against rivals and worse against the everybody else.  9-3 is Michigan football.  Bo's legacy is padded by the fact that the SEC was a lot worse back then.

Please just admit that you want UM to OVERACHIEVE historical levels if you're going to complain.

Here is an idea. Maybe making a coaching change decision in a year where the team has a ton of new starters, you spent multiple months not even sure you would play, you lost key players at key positions due to COVID,  you are uncertain what money you will have available to hire a new coach is a bad idea.

If the AD did not decide to fire Harbaugh last year there is no way he is going to make that decision this year. It would be an absurd decision.  This year is a wash. Next year will decide the issue unless Harbaugh decides to leave on his own

Up until this game I was of the mindset that firing him could always make things worse.   I'm done with that.   This game was an unmitigated disaster.   We talk about gaps at position groups.   Our D tackles were terrible in this game (our ends weren't much better).   We have 2 highly touted sophomores on the interior (Hinton and Smith).   Hinton splits time with Jeter and Smith barely sees a snap.   I don't understand why those guys aren't further along - they have tons of talent and athleticism.   Sparty's O-line is very bad and we made them look all-world.   2 TFL's for minimal loss.  Zero sacks and only a couple of QB hurries.   And that was against a BAD O-line.  OSU will score on every possession and in most cases will do so quickly.   That game is going to be an absolute blood-bath.

Harbaughs not going anywhere. Yeah this sucks but there’s literally 3 teams who have better seasons than us yr after yr. it’s not like we’re  seeing Oregon or Florida get over that hump and Michigan’s the only one left out. This is as good as it gets and unfortunately no other coach is gonna make it better. Harbaughs loss of key players over the yrs plays a big part in this. I’ve succumbed to the fact that this is as good as it gets. It could be a hell of a lot worse.

Until the state of Michigan starts producing elite talent at a higher clip, I don't think there's much any coach could do. The dominant teams in the country (Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, etc.) are made up of kids from their local region. If you look at Alabama's roster for example, the vast majority of their roster are kids from Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana and Georgia. The midwest simply doesn't produce that type of talent, and it's a detriment to programs that have to recruit from outside their region of the country. Ohio State is able to be dominant because Ohio is, by far, the best producer of talent in the midwest, and Ohio State has zero competition in state.

When you look at the class of 2021, the 22nd ranked player in the state is going to Miami of Ohio. You compare that to the state of Ohio or Alabama, and you have to get to kids ranked worse than 60 before you start consistently seeing kids go to a non-power 5 schools. Harbaugh can't control that.

I don't think Harbaugh is going anywhere, and I really don't think he should. I expect Manuel to offer him an extension and I expect Harbaugh to take it. I'd be surprised if anything else happens.
