Players approaching statistical milestones
I was just perusing Sports Reference, which has compiled stats for this year's football team. There are a number of players approaching various statistical milestones this season, so I figured I would highlight them for the benefit of the masses here:
Passing
- McNamara currently has 1,883 passing yards. Good chance he'll eclipse 2,000 yards against Maryland.
- Unfortunately, it doesn't appear likely that he'll cross any other notable thresholds this year. At 12 TDs, I doubt he'll reach 20 for the year. He has 149 completions, so it's also unlikely he'll reach 200 for the season.
Rushing
- This is widely known, but Haskins has 985 rushing yards. Good chance he'll cross 1,000 yards against Maryland!
- Haskins also currently has 196 rushing attempts this season. Good chance he'll cross 200 attempts against Maryland as well.
- Corum currently has 778 rushing yards. If he is able to return for the OSU game, he'll have a puncher's chance at reaching 1,000 for the season as well (assuming he plays against OSU, and a bowl game).
Receiving
- Unfortunately, due to passing volume, there aren't any notable receiving milestones in reach. CJ already has over 500 yards, but he's highly unlikely to reach 1,000.
- Erick All currently has 319 receiving yards, so there's a decent chance he'll reach 500 yards after OSU.
Defense
- Most notably, Aidan Hutchinson currently has 9 sacks. One more and he will join Ojabo with 10.
- Ojabo currently has 5 forced fumbles - I don't have a source right now, but I believe I read that has him tied for the all-time Michigan record for forced fumbles in a season.

5 forced fumbles is nuts. I really wish he has an "I really love econ" moment and decides to stay an extra year.
November 19th, 2021 at 1:53 PM ^
5*
Actually 6 and Hutchinson has a TD.
Fuck you B1G officiating
November 19th, 2021 at 3:06 PM ^
Uh, if he really loves and understands Econ, he will be gone. Be careful what you wish for.

Was really hoping for 2 - 1,000 yard backs, so hopefully Corum is healthy and productive for the OSU and future games.
Also, looking forward, would feel better about next year if Donovan Edwards has a breakout (100+ yds??) game before the season is over....seems like Maryland is the best chance for that!
November 19th, 2021 at 4:24 PM ^
Yeah I was really hoping both Corum and Haskins could hit 1,000, which is still slightly possible, but Corum would need a Biakabutuka-versus-Ohio State kinda game (which would be fucking awesome).
Considering we've had 2 1,000 yard rushers since 2011 (Toussaint & Higdon), doing it twice in 1 season would be hella impressive.

Nice update. Thanks.
Brad Robbins must possess the best average punt hang time, right? His punts have hovered in the air for a very long time.
November 19th, 2021 at 2:40 PM ^
I feel like Brad Robbins has gone under appreciated for the season. While his efforts have not gone unnoticed I feel like even more appreciation is due.
November 19th, 2021 at 3:06 PM ^
He's great. I think many of us wish our coaches didn't rely on him so much - hypothetically calling the offense with the knowledge of having a great punter to trot out on 4th down.
November 19th, 2021 at 5:43 PM ^
I agree he is a truly an outstanding punter. It's the least sexy position on the team, but when you have a weapon that can flip the field the way Robbins can, that changes the complexion of the game and the ripple effects of that can be profound.

Believe he is up for the Ray Guy award
someone is noticing him
November 19th, 2021 at 1:56 PM ^
I thought Corum was out for OSU?
Please tell me I'm wrong.
PLEASE TELL ME I'M WRONG!
November 19th, 2021 at 2:09 PM ^
Nothing has been confirmed. And, per usual, Michigan has kept things close to the chest on this one.
He's not playing tomorrow (and he's not really needed TBH), so I hope he's healing well.
November 19th, 2021 at 2:14 PM ^
Yeah, that's what I've read as well. Definitely not playing against Maryland, but it's still possible he could suit up against OSU.
November 19th, 2021 at 3:01 PM ^
I thought I read (Ghost of Jermaine perhaps?) that he's out tomorrow but plans to be back for OSU. I could be totally wrong though.
November 19th, 2021 at 2:12 PM ^
There's no real info out there. Some "insider" info has been saying "maybe bowl game" the only thing that seems definitive is that he won't be playing against Maryland. So, there's at least a CHANCE that he could play for OSU.
High ankle sprains are pesky and apparently they vary widely in their effect.
November 19th, 2021 at 2:24 PM ^
I have never been so happy to (MAYBE) be wrong in quite a long time...
November 19th, 2021 at 3:48 PM ^
During the PSU broadcast they said he was out for two weeks (i.e. PSU and Maryland) with the hope he'd be back for OSU
November 19th, 2021 at 7:32 PM ^
With his injury being a high ankle sprain and his game being quick cuts and lateral movement I see very little chance of him playing vs osu.
Only he knows for sure how far along in recovery he is but at rhis
poimt I would say doubtful based on the above

Good post with one glaring omission: How many more fools does Haskins need to hurdle to set the all-time fools hurdled ncaa record??
November 19th, 2021 at 1:57 PM ^
Also, a big team record of note. David Bowens single season sack record of 12 is within striking distance for both Ojabo (10) & Hutchinson (9).
Would be great to see them both break the record next weekend!
November 19th, 2021 at 2:01 PM ^
Lamarr Woodley had 12 as well in 2006.
November 19th, 2021 at 2:10 PM ^
Good call, breakin' them both!
November 19th, 2021 at 7:33 PM ^
Unfortunately neither will get the B1G record of 16.5
November 19th, 2021 at 2:01 PM ^
With four or five games left, Cade definitely has a good chance at 20 and 200.
November 19th, 2021 at 2:11 PM ^
He has 12 in 10 games. Another 5 games at his current rate will not get him to 20. He would almost get there. And he could if we play some overtime games. Go Cade. I'm hoping he can get to 20 TD passes in 15 games.
November 19th, 2021 at 2:18 PM ^
Um... if we're hypotheticalling Cade into a 5th game, that only happens in one scenario. I'm willing to go nuts with the hypothetical and say that Cade exceeds his average outcome if he gets there. That's just me though, I'm craaazy.
November 19th, 2021 at 2:51 PM ^
Cade has 7 TDs in his last 3 games. He's accelerating rapidly. I predict 5 TDs against OSU.
November 19th, 2021 at 3:22 PM ^
You totally typoed "Maryland"
In The Game, we'll have 4 in the air and 4 on the ground
November 19th, 2021 at 2:16 PM ^
I see what you did there. And I LIKE it.
November 19th, 2021 at 2:18 PM ^
November 19th, 2021 at 7:36 PM ^
Well we are only guaranteed 3 more games.
and sorry to say we won’t get 4 or 5 more games which would mean B1G championship game + playoffs.
Would love to see it but don’t have the weapons to beat the beast of the east
November 19th, 2021 at 2:02 PM ^
It is a good feeling that it seems we actually have a well rounded team. And since we have 5 games left in the season, I believe all the records will be broken. Go Blue!
November 19th, 2021 at 2:07 PM ^
i was gona start a post about how ridiculous osu's wrs, rbs, and qb stats are, but f it. I like the post and we'll leave it at that.
The only stat i care about right this moment is 2-0. starting today
November 19th, 2021 at 2:10 PM ^
Cade can sit early this week, as the expected 51 of 52 for 8 tds the following week should meet all your milestones.
November 19th, 2021 at 2:33 PM ^
Also saw a tweet that said Haskins only needs a few more yards for 2000 in his career. And Saturday will be his 20th game played.
November 19th, 2021 at 3:56 PM ^
I know wins and losses are all that matter but these passing/receiving stats should be locked in a time capsule and opened around 3000never AD.
November 19th, 2021 at 5:54 PM ^
It's a team sport, but it sure is great when, win or lose, individual players reach important milestones.
November 19th, 2021 at 7:42 PM ^
Would love a 300 yard rushing,.300 yard passing, 4 passing TDs, 5 sacks and 2 forced fumbles against OSU, but will settle for 13-12 victory. Make the 16-1 record against them into 16-2. That is the only record I am sure everyone cares about at this point.
