PFT’s Mike Florio Says Extension Next for Harbaugh
One of the NFL guys’ who started the Harbaugh to NFL chatter now saying this is a good sign

Snip snap snip snap snip snap.

You've no idea the physical toll that three vasectomies have on a person!

And I bought this condo to fill with children.

Good luck paying Harbaugh with your zero dollars a year salary with benefits babe.

Cool story bro: Totally had a Dinner Party scenario with my dad and the “new woman” at Christmas. After already being there for an hour, someone asked about dinner and “oh, well the crown roast will need at least another hour and a half…” and we all looked at each other thinking “Oh, no, no, no, it's just the osso bucco needs to braise for about three hours. Everything else is done.”

This board's own posters are creating clickbait titles now.
January 10th, 2022 at 1:25 PM ^
What's clickbait about that title?
January 10th, 2022 at 1:43 PM ^
The actual title of the article is "Next move for Jim Harbaugh could be an extension at Michigan".
"COULD BE" is the same shit everyone thought since the new year. The title of this post "PFT’s Mike Florio Says Extension Next for Harbaugh" is alluding to the fact that the extension is Harbaugh's next step, not a return to the NFL.
January 10th, 2022 at 1:53 PM ^
... suggests "that the extension is Harbaugh's next step,"
while alluding to it as a fact,
but eluding the possibility that Harbaugh still might leave.
January 10th, 2022 at 2:02 PM ^
Harbaugh alludes to historical figures.
Hassan eludes defenders (when he doesn't run them over).
January 10th, 2022 at 2:04 PM ^
He's sorta right - we all clicked through. The thread appears to have a click-batey draw.
But, I checked on all the other threads and people have clicked through and commented on each one in similar fashion. We've got to find a way for the titles to be more vague so threads can get glossed over with no comments.
January 10th, 2022 at 4:48 PM ^
He's an NFL slappy. You think he's actually going to admit he was jivin' us? This is just CYA so he can claim to be right no matter what happens.
January 10th, 2022 at 1:27 PM ^
How is this title clickbait? It gives a man's name, his place of business, and gets to the point of what the man said in as few words as possible. What more do you want? His social security number?
January 10th, 2022 at 1:28 PM ^
It would be nice, yes.
January 10th, 2022 at 1:33 PM ^
It could have been the Baltimore Ravens giving John Harbaugh an extension.
January 10th, 2022 at 1:43 PM ^
Why would that be worthy of news?
Christ, the constant over-policing of this board - links, embeds, titles - makes it unbearable to read sometimes.
January 10th, 2022 at 2:17 PM ^
I heard Minnesota hired Harbaugh right out from under our noses!
January 10th, 2022 at 1:24 PM ^
Make it stop. Cannot take another Harbaugh rumor.
January 10th, 2022 at 1:46 PM ^
Harbaugh and rumors go together like soup and a sandwich.
January 10th, 2022 at 1:57 PM ^
Unless you eat at Tim Hortons and would, for some unGodly reason, want a cup of burned black coffee and a shitty chocolate schmeared donut with your dry flavorless turkey half sandwich. Food isn’t your enemy, Mr. Horton!
January 10th, 2022 at 2:02 PM ^
I think their food is designed for seniors that have lost their sense of taste and Canadians that are too nice to say it doesn't taste good.
January 10th, 2022 at 7:44 PM ^
Unfortunately, I know some friends who were both vaccinated but still got the Delta variant and lost their taste and small and still have not gotten it back after 3 months, so every day for them is like eating old people food. The y dropped out of our wine tasting group but will not rejoin until their smell and taste return.

Glad it's not only me that thinks Tim Horton's food is overrated...

I hope so, but Florio isn't exactly the most reliable source. He throws a lot of stuff against the wall.
January 10th, 2022 at 1:47 PM ^
Case in point: Sunday he filed a story about Harbaugh to the Raiders.

What if, now hear me out, he predicted Harbaugh to get hired at each NFL opening and sign an extension at UM? Can't get them all wrong...
January 10th, 2022 at 1:26 PM ^
I do not envision a scenario where Harbaugh leaves UM if they give him exactly what he wants. The only way the NFL is ever a better option for Harbaugh, is if there is no path to make UM competitive on the levels of Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, OSU. All that stuff about "wanting to best his brother", hungry for a new challenge, etc. to me is all trash. If Jim is a man of his word, and I believe him to be, then he will be at Michigan until Michigan no longer wants him.
January 10th, 2022 at 1:52 PM ^
I could not agree more.
January 10th, 2022 at 2:22 PM ^
One day I think Jim will go to the NFL. When you are that competitive, you badly want to win a Super Bowl. If you came within 4th and goal of winning the super bowl you want it even more. If you came within 4th and goal of winning the super bowl against your brother and lost two other extremely tight NFC championship games...yeah lol.
But I think right now, this year, if he leaves, it won't be because of that, or solely because of that. I think if Michigan does everything they can, he doesn't want to leave...yet.
So if he leaves I will personally view it as a bit of an indictment on the athletic department administration. Perhaps that's a bit unfair and I could be wrong. But that's my perspective
January 10th, 2022 at 4:43 PM ^
Jim is no longer young. He will be 60 soon. He's basically at the point where he has to decide if he is going to the NFL or sticking at Michigan till retirement. He probably will only be a coach for another 10-12 years.
January 10th, 2022 at 8:13 PM ^
I agree with this line of argument.
But there's a LOT of things that have to come into alignment, roster, draft, front office, etc. and Jim has been there before, so he can be even more discerning about what will and what won't work.
Building a legacy/dynasty/program with an institution like Michigan is also as one of the greatest achievements, and he's in that position currently, and could very well do it, the NIL will change things dramatically, better/worse, we'll see.
I'm not sure how many people fault Saban for his lack of NFL success (or many other legendary cfb coaches).
Ultimately it's about options, people don't leave for absolute reasons, but comparative reasons, if the NFL can hand him reigns to things and scenarios line up in ways he doesn't have at UM, then he jumps there, but if not, he stays, we are undoubtedly creatures of convenience.
January 10th, 2022 at 2:25 PM ^
I unfortunately doubt that Michigan can give Harbaugh exactly what he wants, if one of his desires is to be able to compete more equally in the transfer portal.
January 10th, 2022 at 2:29 PM ^
This remains to be seen, however, if I had to choose between the portal and NIL. I would rather Michigan go all in on NIL, because that is going to have a bigger impact than the transfer portal, IMO.
January 10th, 2022 at 4:56 PM ^
Exactly! Getting additional money to pump up the staff's & team's budget is *much* easier than getting the various academic departments to change their credit transfer requirements.

Could be - wow, that’s some impactful speculation there Florio. Real, bold flavor
January 10th, 2022 at 1:29 PM ^
Well that sounds definitive
January 10th, 2022 at 1:29 PM ^
That wasn't much of an article - maybe three 'paragraphs', or whatever settle for paragraphs in todays 'journalism'. You know, one sentence affairs. There is nothing new, nothing substantiated, and nothing offered. Its a rehash of things we all speculate - Ross wants him to stay at Michigan, so he's using leverage earned this year for a bigger payday.
Too bad the need to publish quickly so far outweighs the need for actual news and accuracy these days...

It's all of 202 words. You know, long-form.

?Mike Florio doesn’t know a damn thing
January 10th, 2022 at 1:35 PM ^
I was innocently watching ESPN and FS1 at a bar last week and saw both carrying "Harbaugh to NFL" stuff, so, again innocently, I asked this board for any additional info. I got negbanged so far it is now going to take me forever to get that free poster of Brian you get when you hit 5,000 MGoPoints. It's just not fair.
January 10th, 2022 at 1:49 PM ^
You need to aim higher. At 7,500 points you get a shirtless Brian poster. And at 10,000 points it's, well... I'll let someone else fill you in on that.
