Great news for the younger players and those seniors who may not be up to NFL talent levels.

It would be interesting to see how this all plays out given the glut of players who will declare for the draft. Definitely a buyers market for a couple years.

long story short: this will somehow help OSU a lot, and Michigan not at all.

This is not going to materially alter roster quality. The best senior/junior are going to the NFL and the best sophomores are going to take their spots as they rise to a junior. The guys who stay for an extra year are backups typically. I mean some 4-star like Hinton is going to take Carlos Kemp’s starting spot.

But if an okay guy like Kemp with limited NFL potential sticks around, that greatly improves our interior DL depth. Realistically, the guys I would expect to maybe come back would be:
Mason - Very good fullback, but not much pro potential in a modern NFL.
Kemp - Hasn't shown nearly enough to enter the draft and plays an important position for Michigan. The interior DL might actually be pretty good next year if he sticks around.
Evans - I don't think he stuck around AA and worked as hard as he did to bounce at this point. The question is whether they'll pay to keep him around.
Nordin - His leg strength is a rare asset that can help the team. He also hasn't been consistent enough to get drafted at this point IMO.

Mason will have his Ross degree and will not benefit from more college football. I think he makes an old school NFL program like the Patriots who value fullbacks as versatile guys for special teams and short yardage situations. If not, on to the business world for a regular way career.

It may not affect the roster but it definitely will have an impact in the form of players on the roster that will now have in game experience vs the B1G that will sit out a year.
