MGoBlog in the Men's Journal (Jan / Feb)
My apologies if this was already posted and I missed it. I did a quick search and did not find this mentioned; however, with all the Harbaugh news, I could have easily looked past it.
Nevertheless, I received my Jan / Feb edition of Men's Journal and while skimming through I noticed a straggly and windblown photo of someone wearing a Michigan hockey jersey, with a Michigan scarf, and a Michigan sign on what looks to be a Winnebago. To my surprise, it was our very own, Brian Cook!
MGoBlog has a two-page spread under the title, "Revenge of the Superfans: A former computer programmer with a passion for his alma mater takes on the college sports establishment." The article discusses the formation of MGoBlog, the philosophy of the site, and it's role in the Dave brandon situation. I highly recommend!
Great job, Brian!!!

It looks like I'll have to pick up a copy. Can't wait for HTTV 2015, I bet the Kickstarter will get funded in record time.

It has been interesting to see this blog achieve a new level of influence over the last few months. I know we've articles about the place in the past, but now we're getting mentions in nationally read blogs / outlets and, from the look of things, actually affecting real change. It's something that only a highly engaged, passionate and motivated fanbase could achieve, but then that's what we are around here.

It's easy to take for granted the quality of this site, its administrators and members. Well done to all.

Grantland sees his success and makes him a 'Godfather' offer to become a national writer for them.

He wouldn't have to recruit new writers and staff members, could live in the bay area (the area of the country that his wife likes in case you haven't heard)... I think this has some legs.

Brian Cook is past due to be offered lucrative writing positions. This blog kicks ass, and he's always been more reliable than many in the mainstream sports media, but he does it while being transparent and without being a total arrogant d-bag. I don't know what I would've done during this search without mgoblog. I probably would still be worried about some NFL team snatching him.
Btw, why would Brian not start an NFL blog instead of this college crap.....?

I'm sure he's received a few good offers from prominent national sports sites.
