He has lymphona so it's not due to the recent controversy. Please refrain from ill-conceived jokes.

Another opportunity for dantanio to coach in the ess eee see.

Thread-jacking to inform anybody about to make a joke: he has lymphoma, and some sources are just saying "health reasons" (which as Michigan fans, you know where your brain immediately goes when you hear that). Again, before you make a joke and feel bad when you learn this fact, nota bene: HE HAS CANCER and was diagnosed in May of this year. This isn't bullshit.

What kind of shithead downvotes this?

Apologies and prayers to the Pinkel family. However, my comment was made before the OP added the reason why he resigned.
November 13th, 2015 at 5:35 PM ^
Yeah, didn't mean to make it seem like I was calling you out. I just wanted to reply to the top comment before everybody started piling in here without realizing. Then the OP edited anyway.
November 13th, 2015 at 5:56 PM ^
due to the stealth edit by OP.
Was OP going for entrapment or the "first to post!" race?

University of Missouri Head Football Coach Gary Pinkel will resign his position following the conclusion of the 2015 season, and he will remain as Mizzou's coach through December 31, 2015, or until a new head coach is in place, as announced today by MU Director of Athletics Mack Rhoades. Pinkel informed his staff and team this evening, and will address questions following Saturday's game against BYU at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. Pinkel and Rhoades are discussing a role that would keep him associated with Mizzou Athletics once he steps away from coaching duties. Pinkel's decision is health-based, as he was diagnosed in May of 2015 with lymphoma, a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma cancer of the blood. He received multiple treatments in May and June, and after doctors indicated that the treatments wouldn't interfere with his coaching duties, he decided that he would continue to coach the Tigers in 2015.

The contrast between the last paragraph and your dancing Harbaugh is unsettling.

Fuck Cancer

Agreed. Hoping for a speedy recovery for Coach Pinkel. He's always been one of my favorite non-Michigan coaches out there.

from the mediocre program they were before him, I wonder how good of a hire they will make or will they go back to said mediocrity.
In any event I wish him and his family nothing but the best.

You're on top of news today.
Resignation due to "health reasons". Likely caused by the toxic environment in the locker room and on campus.

Or due to lymphoma

I upvoted you. Because even though your comment was big, hairy, lubed dildos, I like you.
(Did I use dildos as an adjective correctly???)
November 13th, 2015 at 5:03 PM ^
No. You used it as a noun.

Yeah, well, your breath is dildoy.

Ok, seriously, I may end up getting hired somewhere with this many openings this year. Kinda more worried about holding onto Durkin. I don't think a big time program will come looking at him, but you can bet MAC schools, like his alma mater Bowling Green, will be talking to him this offseason after their head coaches get snatched up.

This school will become toxic for students and athletes if this continues in the manner it is progressing.

Give it up. The guy is sick. You were wrong about why he resigned. You just look worse with each post you make.
November 13th, 2015 at 5:59 PM ^
But isn't it interesting that he made the announcement in the wake of his insubordinate stand.

The ones taking the fall are the ones that have, for the last 35 years, fostered and encouraged the ideology of such protests. They are indeed reaping what they have sown and I for one have zero sympathy.

is a good dude.
I had the good fortune of being a walk-on at the University of Toledo in the Fall of 1992. Although being a walk-on sucked in many facets, Coach Pinkel was a class act and tried to treat us as men...not meat.
Hope he gets the treatment he needs and deserves.
(Oh yeah...CSB :P)
