Fred Hoiberg (Chicago Bulls CC thread)

Submitted by Dustinlo on

Leading candidate for the Bulls HC vacancy per Comcast Sports. Don't we have a bball recruit who has us and ISU at the top of his list?

Mod edit: Changed the title. The title is there to show what a thread is about, tags should be used for OT coaches. JGB.

Both Cassius Winston & MIles Bridges have ISU & Michigan in their top 5.

Don't Hoiberg's decision matters much as they wouldn't end up there even if he stayed.

....and I wonder if him potentially leaving could affect Monte Morris (Flint-native who is arguably the best pure PG in the country... wanted to stay home but didn't get offered by MSU & Michigan favored Walton over him).

Michigan offered and it was first come, first serve.  Walton jumped and grabbed the spot.

Michigan State is the school that showed zero interest.

His ISU teams were fun to watch and we had some good games against them, too. Do coaches not know the Bulls owners are assholes? Why subject yourself to working for them...

Because Hoiberg knows Reinsdorf well when he played for the Bulls after the dynasty was dismantled, is good friends with Bulls Director of Basketball Ops John Paxson, and is a fellow ISU alum with Bulls GM Gar Forman.

He knows the Bulls upper management very well, and liked them, and the feeling is mutual.  That's why.

This is not good.

It most likely means we're going to be seeing Bielfeldt playing against us next year, as his final three choices were Iowa State, Indiana and Nebraska.

I hope if he is hired as the Bulls coach that he's terrible and the Bulls are terrible forever.

Smoothitron's favorite white Indiana Pacers all-time:

1. Exhaustin' Austin Croshere

2. Rik Smits

3. Jeff Foster

4. Detlef Schrempf

5. Fred Hoiberg
