Divisional Weekend - Who's feeling the heat?

Submitted by blueinbeantown on January 21st, 2022 at 11:34 AM

Who's under the most pressure / heat going into Divisional Weekend?

1. Rodgers / GB.  As Yogi said "its getting late early!".  1 SB win but most important, most home playoff losses in his era.  T

2. Rams.  Have totally sold out.  Winning at TB not easy.

3. Buffalo.  Is this the team that destroyed the Pats or struggled against ATL?

4. Jimmy G.  Last run in SF?

For me, the Rams are numero uno. Even before the Packers.

The Rams have put quite literally everything that matters on the line to build this team. Stafford, Kupp, Miller, Ramsey, Donald, OBJ, a team jam packed with superstars, but almost all at the expense of future draft capital. If they can't win with this team, they're not winning anything for a long time, because there are no real reinforcements on the way for quite a while. They have no cap space and no first or second round picks until I think 2024.

FWIW, I think the Rams beat Tampa this week. Tampa has a depleted receiver corps, and while they may get Fournette back this weekend, they may be down their starting LT and have a center who is less than 100%. Both got hurt last week playing Philly, and Brady got sacked at least three times that day. Now you want to go against freaking Aaron Donald and Von Miller? Good luck.

Never, ever count Tom Brady out in the postseason, and of course they have a great chance to win. But the teams that beat him there are the ones with dominant pass rushes that get in his face early and often. The Rams can do that. But if they lose, there will be a lot of questions arising about whether the Rams can win it all with this team.

GB with the obvious home field advantage.

Can TB keep TB upright.?

KC has so many playmakers on offense,  tough  game for Buffalo.

Pulling for Cinci, underdog and all.

Very interesting games. While the individual players will be a lot of the focus (Rodgers, Brady, Mahomes, Allen, etc.) this maybe a really interesting set of struggles pitting schemes, and adjustments.

The Rams got to the SB and lost with Goff - the game plan used against them to neutralize their DL and their offense was widely studied. It makes for a fascinating coaching battle but may not be as fun for casual fans (13-3 final score) - Will Tampa Bay do something similar?

The Chiefs likewise faced a specific defensive scheme that made their OL injuries the fatal flaw in their game plan. Now that they've seemed to have shored up that part of their team, can their defense hold off a very hot Buffalo Bills team?

1. Tampa - defending champs playing a team with nothing to lose.

2. Chiefs - playing much better but Buffalo smoked them in KC earlier this year and is also playing well.

3. GB - SF has been a thorn in the side to Rams and Dallas these past few weeks
