The Best Offensive Line

In football makes everything else work. It opens the whole game up. They’re so good and we don’t realize it, because they’re that good.

We wanted the Stanford lines of 15 years ago and we have better, now.

it’s awesome. See you all in two weeks.

We had a great OL in 2007 that helped milk the clock late at home vs. PSU, with Hart running behind the left side (Jake Long). But that line couldn't protect Henne ai Illini where he got a shoulder injury that hurt him till the Citrus Bowl win over Urban. We also have Mullings who could do what Owen Marecic could do - scoring back to back TDs, 1st on O then on D.

I'm really enjoying the current state of the O-line. It's been 20+ years since Michigan has had something like this.

But 2007? You mean this year?

The starting O-line was a Hall of Fame left tackle and a bunch of guys. Schilling (a couple of games) and Boren (briefly on an active roster) were the only other ones that made the NFL.

OT: Chris Hinton made the Chargers roster (https://www.chargers.com/team/players-roster/christopher-hinton/). Maybe that's old news. I wasn't aware until this morning.

With everyone, now, healthy and a nice group of youngsters having filled in, learned and becoming high level contributors-bring it on!

Next year's OL may be as good or better-tremendous depth. And the schedule, just like this year, will allow them time to develop and gel. JJ, Edwards, Stokes, Mullings and the gang will be a year better-oh my!

Glory days.

After all the agony we experienced during the RichRod years, the Hoke years, and the early Harbaugh years where it just seemed like when push came to shove Michigan’s OL could not get push on anyone who mattered (on in Hoke’s case, anyone at all), we finally have the OL we’ve been dying to see since Carr retired.

Cant expect Moore to stay forever, but he’d better be in line for a big raise this off-season.

So at the OT position we have Jones, Barnhart, Persi, Bounds, and Gentry returning and Henderson (could be OG) and Hinton portalling in? Moore is a beast.

Why this isn't obvious is puzzling. Stanford under Harbaugh vs.Carroll's USC. The Washington football team with Joe Bugel and Joe Jacoby. The current Lions! Is it any wonder Goff has played better when upright?

JJ also makes the line better and their sack numbers go down and their rushing total higher with his mobility. Luck? Kaepernick?

Smart, talented, hard working young men.  A solid TE position group.  Solid center and QB.  Read, understand, communicate, and execute.

More intricate blocking schemes with the intelligence and ability to execute is what Michigan fans have been seeing these past two seasons.

The craziest thing about the Joe Moore stuff:

Not one of our OL starters has been a top-100 overall recruit or top-10 OL recruit. None. It’s all our coaches’ development and talent identification.

There are many other schools (e.g. OSU, Alabama, Oklahoma) that have KILLED it in OL recruiting, piling up top-100, even top-10, guys.

But we’re better.

Bo, the entire staff is fantastic.  And, Newsome.. what can you say?  Such a talented and gifted player.. young man.. dealing with such a horrific injury, coming back from it… so, very glad to see.

Grant deserves so much credit and support, as does the Michigan Athletic and Academic staff for their support of him.  It reflects so positively on all involved, including the Medical staff and surgeons who cared for him.

It makes me proud to be a Michigan fan and alum.
