The Return Of Nefarious Eduardo And Friends
Say 'cheese'.
I am pleased to announce that, after months of neglect followed by a furious-but-fruitful search for the old smileys, the MGoBlog Recruiting Board has been revived. You can now find the link under the "Useful Stuff" drop-down menu at the top of the page, and I'll keep the board updated regularly.
As always, please take careful note of the legend before jumping to any conclusions about a recruit; even a "Mr. Blue" only denotes a ~65% chance of landing an uncommitted recruit, and none of the uncommitted recruits merited that status (a month ago, Laquon Treadwell likely would have, but there's still a long way to go in his recruitment). It won't be long before I get to work on creating the 2014 board, but for now, please accept this humble offering as a sign that, yes, we do occasionally work during the summer.
best news since we beat Ohio in football.
Lots of blue smileys and red frownies...
Part of the elegance of the old boards was that Nefarious Eduardo was reserved for recruits who either might still be in play or those whom fans would not give up on. With every single target who's committed elsewhere, too much RED!
That said, thanks so much for putting in the work to bring this back. I've always been a fan of this "gauge" of the recruiting process.
Plus he's the only smiley who sports a Buckstache.
but now I'm Mr. Blue
I'm just happy to return to describing my friends' emotional states on a Sad Josh to Mr. Blue spectrum. Cheers.
Now, I have no idea how much work that would be or if it's even possible to make a separate tab for stickies, just saying I, and probably others, would not be opposed to the addition.
Was just looking at the safety prospects. Did we really offer Jayme Thompson (OSU) and Jalyn Powell (MSU)? I remember there being some confusion about Thompson, with the conventional wisdom being that he hadn't been offered, and I've never heard of a Jalyn Powell offer.
Not that it matters much, but Yannick Ngakoue committed to Maryland.
Brian literally jumped for joy when I told him we'd found them. They were hiding out on the 2009 recruiting board.

Truly, only the return of Nefarious Eduardo could allow us to overcome our collective trauma following the RDT fiasco.
Are those supposed to be teeth on Mr. Blue? I feel like he should be smiling even more than Happy Teeth. Or is he effecting a kind of "this is Michigan fergodsakes" self-assured swag?
He's got a straight up, 100% pure gold grill.
Straight up, 100% pure gold grills >>>>>> a smiley face
Holy crap, I hadn't realized how good ND's O-line class has been. It's just as good as ours, just by star rating.
Reading through it all I was struck by how astonishingly good this class is. It seems that we get so focused on the "next 5 star" and disparage that the coaches because they "didn't hold out".
Man! Hoke and co have recruited a great class of young men. Men of character, class, and drive. While there is no way at this point to foresee where the class of 2013 will end up, I just have to marvel at the overall greatness of this class.
To our 2013 class. May you find greatness on the field and off. But no matter what, may your time at Michigan mold you into the men you aspire to be. Should your last days as a player end wearing the maize and blue, or the colors of a NFL team, who you sheparded to greatness, I hope that you'll find your time at Michigan was a few of the best years you could imagine.
Feel like Bailey should be more than just a "meh" chance, all sources say things are looking good w/ him.
