Michigan is still waiting on DJ Wilson's decision, and it is slightly ominous that there's been one announcement and not the other. Wilson has until midnight to withdraw.
Meanwhile getting Wagner back is a very big deal. Wagner shot 73/66/40 on 24% usage last year and created a ton of shots himself. He needs to improve his defense, obviously. He's still likely to be a high-usage, high-efficiency star who keeps Michigan towards the top end of the Big Ten.

It's not a surprise, but it's still great news! Wagner could have an All American year (not necessarily first team) if he takes half the leap from year two to year three that he did from year one to year two.

how did you come about said information that hasn't been provided on the internet? One cannot just make these kinds of statements on MGOBlog.....
there has been a ton of information out there suggesting DJ was leaning towards going. Obviously no one knows for sure until an official announcement is made, but its always looked likely that DJ would go pro.
and have read everything saying he was leaning towards going. However, I was responding to a statement that implied the poster was "in the know", especially when the poster said "everything I have been hearing". That's why I asked him what his possible connections are outside of everything readily available online. Guess I don't know why you would make a statement like that if you are just basing it off of everything most of us MGoPosters already know.
Sam Webb said that this morning that he thinks DC will come back. This was not a gut feeling, to be clear. It was just his informed guess.

1/2 was necessary to be a competitive team next year; 2/2 will likely have us nationally competitive.
If they both left I think we would have been a top 40 team I guess but now that Mo is back are we in the top 25? Or on the cusp? If DJ comes back that would be top 20 probably but every indication I see sounds like he is gone. Go blue, can't wait to see Mo in action again.
the 4 spot will likely be a sore spot all season if DJ leaves, but there is enoguh talent elsewhere to be a top 25-30 team.
If DJ is back I think we could easily be a top 15-20 team.
I think we are in top tranche of the B10, and a trounament team around the 5/6 line. If DJ stays, I think we compete for a B10 title and are on the 3/4 line come tourney time.

DJ is more athletic and better defensively. Mo is more polished on offense.
I frankly feel that DJ fits more of a need on our roster, but they are both super valuable so I am glad at least one is staying.

He told me he was going to make me run if I came back because of all the work he had to put into this. That was actually pretty funny. I think it makes it sound like Beilein wants Mo Wagner back, and was prepared to both (i) hear Wagner out and (ii) share his opinions with Wagner as to why leaving would be risky. Instead, Wagner cut straight to the punchline.
In short, it makes it sound like Beilein was pleasantly surprised with the results of a truncated meeting.
Yeah, sounds more like Beilein had planned a lot of things to say (convincing him to come back or maybe going through all the pros and cons) and then Mo made it all unnecessary.
