Rodriguez expects Odoms to play in Gator Bowl
According to @nicoleauerbach, Rodriguez is expecting Martavious Odoms to be ready to go for the Gator Bowl. Good news for the wideouts and the offense.
"Rodriguez says Odoms has been able to do everything in practice and should be good to go in the bowl game."
Also, the kicking situation should be down to a gametime decision — "Rodriguez says it's still Gibbons or Broekhuizen for FGs. Depends on distance and hash mark for who we'll see in the game."
Oh why must we deal with these kicking woes ... can't wait for Goudis.

That's great news for Odoms. His downfield blocking is just as needed as his receiving.

A lot of Denards early runs were directly a result of a Tay smackdown on a CB/LB/S.

I am really shocked he will be able to play after breaking a foot. I would be such a wuss from that injury I would just wait until next season. But, I guess this is why I never pursued a football career and Odoms is a starting WR for Michigan, no?
This is awesome news. Can't wait for his mountain goat headbutt blocking skills again.

Didn't you just start a thread on Stanford's coach?

I didnt want to be the guy

Martavious Odoms to be next head Coach at Michigan... I mean that's what you meant right? /s

He was missed during his injury
December 29th, 2010 at 11:35 AM ^
He's like the third and most badass of the Billy Goats Gruff.

The real question is what does this tell us about who who will be head coach next year?
But for reals, this is awesome news. I love receivers that lay into DBs on running plays. Can't believe he got healthy so quick.

...a warm goat?
December 29th, 2010 at 11:50 AM ^
busting, for the most part, the really big runs once Odoms went out. You know whomever Odoms was blocking was not making the tackle when he was out there - if I see Denard running wild again on Jan 1 I'm going to make the connection.
December 29th, 2010 at 12:36 PM ^
...but I think Denard lost a half-step after the late hit by BGSU that injured his hip. To me, is when he became very good with great moments instead of transcendently great. If he has had time to rest from all of his "dings" and is fully healed, we may see a Denard that could have beaten a few more teams this year.
December 29th, 2010 at 12:52 PM ^
He didn't injury his hip against BGSU, he bruised his knee.
And it wasn't a late hit.
December 29th, 2010 at 12:51 PM ^
There is no correlation. Denard stopped making those incredible runs when we started playing some quality defenses. Odoms injury happened to occur against the first of those good teams.
December 29th, 2010 at 11:51 AM ^
Awesome, can't wait to see him throw some clutch blocks.
December 29th, 2010 at 12:45 PM ^
Watching this gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling.
December 29th, 2010 at 12:58 PM ^
Watching this play NEVER gets old. Odoms running from the other side of the field to deliver a devastating block shows why he is the best blocking back on the field.
December 29th, 2010 at 1:36 PM ^
That was like watching a lightening strike, totally awesome memory!
December 29th, 2010 at 4:24 PM ^
I stopped everything I was doing to watch this a couple of times and then find more Denard YouTube Highlight videos... Thank You

Good news. Michigan lost a lot of toughness without him. Very underrated player in the scheme of things
December 29th, 2010 at 12:25 PM ^
...also said Odoms would be available as a returner.
chengelis Rodriguez says Devin Gardner is simulating Miss St qb Relf in practice
December 29th, 2010 at 12:30 PM ^
Garnder simulating their QB makes a lot more sense than Gallon. The size / speed combo has to help.

WHAT ABOUT HIS BACK?!? OMG, JEOPARDIZING THE FUTURE OF MICHIGAN FOR THE SCOUT TEAM.
December 29th, 2010 at 1:00 PM ^
Easy on the back Devin!
December 29th, 2010 at 12:38 PM ^
Yes. More dreads will be on the field now. Glad he can play. He is a hell of a blocker and will be ready to go after missing a lot of the season. After weeks of no Michigan football I feel like a crack addict going through major withdrawl. I cant wait til they beat some cowbell ass and RR gets "his job back." Go Blue!

Best news I've heard all day, and I've been having a great day so far.
December 29th, 2010 at 12:48 PM ^
Does this verify that he will not get a medical redshirt?
IIRC Gardner was going to get his, but Tay had already played in too many games and therefore was inelgible for a MedRed this year.
December 29th, 2010 at 12:54 PM ^
at a medical redshirt
December 29th, 2010 at 2:02 PM ^
to hear,since he can't redshirt.Will he start?
December 29th, 2010 at 4:19 PM ^
Great news, I really missed seeing him play this year. It'll be nice to have a solid return man
