FL RB Demetrius Hart
Last Week: Touchdown record fluff. Dee is a finalist for National Player of the Year. Dr. Phillips defeated Seminole Ridge 38-28 in Round 3 of the State Playoffs (Regional Championship):
Hart rushed for 218 yards and two touchdowns, bringing him to 48 on the season -- one shy of the state record held by Glades Day's Kelvin Taylor.
His night could have been even better, but the Panthers' performance was sloppy:
The Panthers were penalized 180 yards. Hart had two TDs and 74 yards on runs and receptions nullified by holding calls. He also lost two fumbles.
"They gave us all we could handle," Hart said. "We had a lot of mistakes. We're going to clean those up next week."
Hart's official stats come from the Dr. Phillips website. Opposite perspective. Highlights:

This week: Dr. Phillips travels to Sanford Seminole for the State Semifinals.
FL OL Tony Posada
Last week: Pregame fluff, with a crazy tidbit of info:
Lost in all the preseason hype surrounding the nation’s No. 1 team was the ugly truth that Plant only returned three starters on offense: Ely, DE/RB James Wilder Jr. and OL Tony Posada.
Ely is headed to Alabama and Wilder to Florida State, but making it this far with a mostly-new offense is crazy at the high school level. Plant defeated Countryside 21-13 in Round 3 of the State Playoffs.
This week: Plant will face Lakeland in the State semifinals on Friday.
FL CB Dallas Crawford
Last Week: Pregame fluff. Fluff 2. MOAR FLUFF. Game Preview. In-depth preview. South Fort Myers beat Bradenton-Southeast 28-21 in Round 3 of the State Playoffs.
Crawford finished with 219 passing yards and three touchdowns. Watkins had three receptions for 110 yards and two scores. The Division I duo (Crawford is headed to Michigan to play defensive back) have connected for five touchdowns the past two weeks.
The majority of the article focuses on a fake punt pass for touchdown from Crawford to Watkins:
Crawford said he knew Watkins was gone as soon as he reversed direction around the 50-yard line. By the time the speedy receiver had gotten to the 5, three Southeast defenders had cornered him near the sideline. Watkins stopped dead in his tracks, though, and shot to the right, waltzing pass every Seminole and into the end zone.
“If you put (Watkins) one-on-one with anybody in the country, he's gone,” Crawford said. “He's electrifying. The best high school football player in the country, in my opinion.”
Video:
For 1st-3rd quarter highlights, click through to the article. Dallas finished 12/17 passing for 219 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He ran 8 times for 2 yards. Another article says that includes 4 sacks for 34 yards.

A bowl victory may never be this important for the Maize & Blue. A win hopefully means Rich Rod stays, D Hart come to town and that defense a year older and a year wiser. 2011 will be a good year under Rich Rod but 2012, 2013, 2014 will be scary good. Go Blue!
December 7th, 2010 at 11:32 AM ^
...You consider D Hart a Blue commit. I like that....
December 7th, 2010 at 11:36 AM ^
not trying to be a jerk...but check the board. Tom updated last night D's status. He is an M commit, still.

This question probably has an obvious answer, but how can 6 different teams be playing in the Florida HS state semi final game?
December 7th, 2010 at 11:38 AM ^
Different classes... 1,2,3,4,5 and 6... based on student body numbers. I think...
December 7th, 2010 at 11:39 AM ^
...The same way that every single state has different divisions.
December 7th, 2010 at 11:43 AM ^
Different Classes 1A, 1B, 2A, 3A, etc....
December 7th, 2010 at 2:49 PM ^
Does anyone know if our recruits in FL might end up playing each other. Or all they all in different decisions?
December 7th, 2010 at 3:40 PM ^
All different divisions. Dee is in the biggest one (which makes his stats that much more impressive), Posada in the second-biggest, and Crawford's a little bit down, maybe 4th-biggest.
December 7th, 2010 at 11:42 AM ^
Just a small request - can you bold the Regular Season / Playoffs / Totals rows so they stand out? It's just 2 players now, but it would help in reading the ever-groing table. Thanks!

I'm trying to go to the Dr. Phillips game on Friday. Anyone else in the Orlando area wanna meet up and go ??
December 7th, 2010 at 11:50 AM ^
Thanks Tim. Every time I watch Dee's highlights I have more and more hope that he will stay a Michigan commit and will be wearing the winged helmet next season. Please DB, keep RR for at least one more year so that we can begin our domination of the Big Ten and continue this exciting offensive production.
December 7th, 2010 at 11:52 AM ^
When you say "1 INT" for Dallas, is that throwing or as a DB?
I'll just assume it is as a DB and he is both awesome and perfect in every way.
December 7th, 2010 at 11:57 AM ^
Throwing. Defensive stats are much harder to come by in high school. You can check the chart of his cumulative stats, which indicates it's throwing. I suspect he has more interceptions defensively than I've given him credit for, but there's not enough info out there to know for sure.
December 7th, 2010 at 12:15 PM ^
Is there a reason we are not going after the Dr. Phillips kicker? I look at his offer list and there doesn't seem to be any big name competition. He just kicked a 50-yarder, what more are we looking for. Plus, the more kids we get out of this school the better the pipeline for the future gets.
December 7th, 2010 at 12:43 PM ^
on the way down to Florida and have a team practice at the high school of Crawford and Watkins? PLEASE!! Put the snake oil on Sammy!
December 7th, 2010 at 6:31 PM ^
Had the pleasure of watching last week's South game. It was one of the most thrilling HS games I've ever witnessed. Dallas came up big, but in truth it was Sammy Watkins who stole the show. We cannot let up on this kid until the LOI has been signed.
