What do you miss (UM football related)
Seconded
I miss knowing how many times we lost to OSU in the last few years. You could tell me we've lost 13 of 14 or 19 of 20. I would pretty much believe you no matter what.
Being nationally relevant in the sport.
Offensive lines.
I miss Brady Hoke talking about toughness and physicality.
while golf clapping.
Instead of being a national joke.
like every year...
So was 2015.
Lived here since 1987. From then until Tressel arrived in Columbus I was HATED by the locals cause everybody knew I went to "TSUN". Wore the (fake) letter jacket, ran the M flag up my flagpole, wore M gear to the gym and generally was loud and proud about my school. And given that from 88-01 we generally kicked their ass and went to the Rose Bowl on a frequent basis it was a given I would be disliked by the locals.
Now? I'm felt sorry for. Now they look at me like I would some over the hill boxer trying (and usually failing) to recapture lost glory against a fighter much younger, stronger and faster. Nobody hates me for being from Michigan anymore. They PITY me and I HATE THAT.
I miss being arrogant. I miss being damn sure we're going to have an excellent football team that will beat OSU most of the time and MSU ALL of the time.
Handjobs. I miss good, old-fashioned, not-terribly-efficient high school handjobs. It's all sex, sex, sex when you're older...
EDIT: Sorry, I missed the "UM football related" part of the OP...
just put some porn on and have rosey get to work. I would think by now you should be able to type with one hand.
Punishing OL's and beating the bitcheyes and sharty's on the regular...
MAN, all of you guys have to get it together. You can't bring this negative energy into the tournament season.
Bobby Williams' last game as MSU's head coach was this very game, I believe, and I was there. I am glad we were able to give him such a gracious sendoff, although I think they should have just kept Williams at least a little longer. Say, until this very day.
Then their heart was ripped out and they were beaten over the head with it. Payback for Spartan Bob's creative timekeeping the year before.
The world made more sense to me in 2002.
I miss telling people who were calling for Lloyd Carr's head in 2005-07 to be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.
I mean hindsight is 20/20 but I think the bigger was the ensuing search process
Yes, the search process was a mess. Getting a better candidate then could have made a lot of difference this past decade.
Bring it back!
for his play calling.
Run, run, pass every single series.
I just realized, had Brian been able to start this blog during the 80's and 90's it would have failed miserably. There would have been very little to complain about and analysis wasn't really required.
Everyone would have basically just agreed we had won yet again and moved on. There would have been three message board posts a week.
- One congratualting the team on another win
- One Haiku for the upcoming game,
-And one weekly OT post ranging from "Best hair spray", "Most comfortable zubaz pants", and a consistent presence from a small but loyal group talking about how they had turned their Monopoly board into a college football territory board by taping colored pieces of paper over the properties.
