Way OT: I released an album last year
Since it's still the offseason, and content/news is scarce, figured this would be okay!
So I'm a musician in addition to a Michigan fanatic, and released an album of synthwave last year. In case you're not familiar with synthwave, it's a '80s retro music featuring the vintage synthesizer and drum machine sounds of the era. You may recognize it from films like Drive and Kung Fury, or video games like Far Cry: Blood Dragon. It's a fun style of music that doesn't take itself too seriously.
If you're interested in giving it a listen, here's the LINK. (It's also on Spotify, Apple Music and so forth.)
Best of luck
Sounds good. Reminds me of Kavinsky.
Him and College (both of whom are featured on the Drive soundtrack). So thanks for making that connection!
an album is something made of vinyl it spins around at 33 or 45 rpm
if you were a true 80's retro band you would say I made a tape
anyway, sound good, waiting for Demi or Molly to show up....
Both sold out, however. So now there's just a digital album/tape-like substance left :)
Actually - an album is a collection of anything... see "photo album".
It's funny you posted this as I was just listening to some stuff from the drive soundtrack. Speaking of, I need to watch that movie again soon.
Fair to assume you're a fan of "The Midnight"?
They're awesome--tracks like "Sunset" and "Jason" are near perfect.
My favorite artists, as a listener, are probably Makeup and Vanity Set (esp the albums 88:88 and Wilderness) and FM Attack. Lazerhawk is pretty badass too.
It's either "Shadows in the Neon Rain," which was the first song I did for this album, or "Stars that Fade," which is a collaboration with Vandal Moon (friends and also a fantastic band).
Got it going on Spotify at work this morning. Well done man.
User name checks out. Congrats and best of luck!

What kind of music?
Really enjoying what I've heard so far- thanks!
Much appreciated. I'm a huge Spotify fan myself--have discovered a ton of great music that way.
Yeah, I've discovered a few new cool things on Spotify - the last few months, I've been all about Kishi Bashi
