More bad news..... ( not really bad, just sad) ND related
I believe yesterday's win by ND and M's loss gave ND the all time winningest % in CFP.
This was pointed out by some of my friendly Domer friends here in Chicago.
I was than less than kind in my response, but I did promise them we would take the trophy back next year in South Bend.
God I hate ND.

Is he another WD personality? You seem to be the expert at sniffing these things out. I have to agree, 2 weeks into the Honest Abe era and I've already gotten tired of him.

This is a completely appropriate post. The timing is perfect as it ties the low point of Michigan's season (now) to the high point (the Florida victory when we thought it meant something) and reminds us that at least we were better than Florida!

Why on earth would you fry tuna?

I thought I read that they are keeping the wins until the appeal is done, which will probably be never considering how the NCAA deals with things.

These are the last little nuggets Michigan needs to be touting at the moment. None of that matters looking back at the last 15 years of football.

Amen, crg. I've never understood the "who cares/it doesn't matter" argument when it comes to Michigan's great football history. In fact, you could make a strong case that college football was even more culturally relevant for much/most of the 20th century than it is now. Only professional baseball was comparative. College football was far more popular than the NFL; the NBA (outside of Boston) was relatively small potatoes; and the NHL was still an entity with a very small number of franchises.
The mentality of "only the present matters" is ignorant and offensive (to those who proudly represented the Maize and Blue on the gridiron).

Period.
To act as if none of it matters cheapens the sport as a whole, and strikes at the heart of why most people watch.
Personally if we are going to disqualify the history and lore surrounding the game, im ready to check out. Its the romanticising of the past that makes the game meaningful.
Its the same with MLB and the records. Take the records out of the game, and it loses alot of its meaning, and appeal.

Why wouldn't the history of our program matter to us?
That's just a dumb take. Of course it matters. The history of the program is a huge part of why we love it in the first place.
It's certainly true that the teams over the past 20 years or so haven't generally upheld that level of historic excellence, but that recent mediocrity doesn't erase the identity of the program.
