Hurst and Bush: Walter Camp Second Team All-Americans
The fact that Hurst isn't first team is absolutely criminal.

Was too much to hope Hurst made First team above Bosa. He'll be just fine in a few months. (Hope he plays Jan 1st though)

Why would they put 3 DE's and 1 DT on their list?

by 80% of FBS coaches who voted. Too distracted preparing for bowl games to do more than grab names from top 10 schools.

To the untrained eye, are we missing something about Mo Hurst that voters are using to discount him?
There were some scouting reports on Taco Charlton last year where they were not very impressed with him. The reports said something to the gist of Taco being too reliant on pure speed/athleticism, and the M coaching staff did a great job hiding it by rotating him constantly. One scout said that Taco really only had 1 move to fall back on, a spin move, and if it didn't work he didn't do much else (i.e. hand placement, swim move, and etc). So while Taco's stats were impressive against college athletes, a lot of scouts predicted that he would fade a bit in the NFL until he could master the technical side vs. just bull rushing opposing OLs.
Honestly, I thought those reports were crazy, and Taco would be a sure-fire All-Rookie lock, but he has started a little slow this season. I'm nowhere near a trained professional or scout, so does any MGoCoaches see any hidden deficiencies in Mo's game?

Hurst is one of the best players I've ever watched at Michigan, up there with Graham and Long. He's near perfect as a 3T.
As for Taco, he's a guy that still needs to work on strength and technique. He's young, and he's not physically at the level he needs to be at yet. He's also been slowed down by the emergence of DeMarcus Lawrence, who the Cowboys did not expect to be able to count on when they drafted Taco. Lawrence was struggling, then had back surgery last year, then got suspended, and now he's one of the best DEs in the league. I believe this is a contract year for Lawrence, so we will see what happens at DE for the Cowboys.

is that he never induces holding penalties on offensive lineman.

These types of things make me want to boycott college ball. But, I can't do it to the players. Also, I am legitimately concerned about these confirmation biases impacting recruits. Who wants to willing to go to a team knowing he's about to get all his, blood sweat, tears, bonded with brothers in battle, just to get scuker punched by the refs when it counts most.
