Here's to hoping it is the absolute worst QB mistake we see tonight.

Posted in the early games thread, but that is mostly on the receiver. You ALWAYS turn that route up the field and into the endzone in that situation. The putz runs until he gets to the sideline, then just kind of stops and gives up as he moseys out of bounds. TURN UP THE EFFING FIELD when you run out of space to the sideline. If he does, he's in a great spot to grab a jump ball.
Of course, in that situation, needing only a FG, the QB should have done a Michigan Special and thrown it 10 yds out of bounds anyway, but it's not all on him. He had every right to think the WR was turning his shoulders and heading into the endzone.

I'm more inclined to agree with the second part of your post - regarding the Michigan special. Live to fight another down in that situation. That looked like a 4th down scramble play with the game on the line. The FG should be a gimme from there.

Texas freshman QB with the brain fart of the year and gives Okie St. the easy OT win (if there is such a thing).

Ugh, John O'Korn is playing so bad...even teasing Wilton Speight isn't as funny as it used to be. He's even taking that bit of joy from me.

Wonder how much his head banging off the turf after that 1st down call had to do with that poor decision.

Dude, serious question: Did Paul Chryst bet on Wisky to cover over Maryland, or what? Who kicks a field goal when up by 22 points with under 30 seconds remaining? That took the score to Wisky 38, Maryland 13, and the spread was 24.5...

I've seen enough of that toward the end of games in college football and the NFL that I think this isn't a super far-fetched idea in itself. Of course, innocent until proven guilty applies...

I'm glad I'm not a fan of an SEC team...because watching Bama be Bama week in and week out would be deflating as fuck.
They are a fucking MACHINE.
(But watching Butch Jones' team literally get run over is kind of fun).

you're a Big Ten fan and get to watch Ohio State do the same 99% of the time and oh they're also your team's biggest rival and have done the same to your team a few times in the recent past...

I like Texas...they're like Michigan of the south.
Plus, how can you not like this?

But I agree on the other 2. Especially love the Iowa got OUT-Iowa'd with Fitz sitting on the ball at the end of the 2nd half and playing for OT.

Why is everyone rooting against Texas when Oklahoma St. is the one that was 5-1? Seems like we would want them to lose to get a second loss.
October 21st, 2017 at 4:21 PM ^
Agree with this as well.
That said, they're not really a threat if you're thinking that somehow we make the playoff.
If Michigan beats 3 top 5 teams...and then probably a top 12 Wisconsin AGAIN. There is ZERO chance they don't get in a playoff.
This problem is, you're smoking crack if you think this is a playoff team...if that's where you're going with this. It's really simple for Michigan. You have to win every game. Some how, some way. Do that and it doesn't matter what anyone else does...this isn't like last year or even the year before.

Got it. I just didn't know if we had anything to worry about as far competing for the better bowl game but I suppose most of those are tied to the conferences. I'm always conflicted because I don't know if Texas being good means they would take some recruits from others like Alabama and spread the talent out more or if Texas being good is a bad thing because they are Michigan South and would take bowl/playoff spots. Texas is a tricky one for me. I don't have an automoatic dislike for them like I do for Notre Dame, the SEC, USC, Florida St., etc.

undefeated B12 team. OSU doesn't own their own at this point.

How do you throw a flag that late.

IU running back was tackled just the same way on the near safety

Rules are different inside and outside of the tackle box. Why is that not a dangerous tackle inside the tackle box? I have no idea, but thems the rules.

The screen on ABC said "playing at the discretion of Mark Dantonio", so either there's some weird understanding here and something is going on in the background or in the mind of Mark, none of this adds up to something which warrants further action. Either way, I guess I would be interested in the reasoning behind this decision.
