THE FULL ALBUM
HONORABLE MENTION
Kekoa Crawford, rather open.
Devin Bush insta-sack.
DPJ jet sweep.
Onwenu gets a pancake.
Khaleke Hudson runs through hold for his second sack.
Speight, Harbaugh disagree with no-call.
Speight stiff-arm and spin move.
Mo Hurst gets down to "Children's Story."
10. MEAT FOR THE MEAT GOD
Yes, Mo Hurst makes a really impressive play here, but watch how far Bryan Mone moves two large human beings trying to push him in the other direction. He definitely doesn't skip leg day.
9. Mr. Brightside
I'M COMING OUT OF MY CAGE
8. Fakeout Block
It really looks like Mason Cole is going to pick off the corner on the edge; instead, he charges full speed ahead and wipes out the safety. Beautiful.
7. Route Artisan, Now With Extra Giddyup
Lovely extension on the finish.
6. Y'all Scared
I choose to believe Rashan Gary was solely responsible for this timeout.
5. Mortified Punter Isn't Ours This Time
This is what happens when you send your punt team onto the field with 15 seconds on the play clock. Grape job, Fickell.
4. Two Wins-ovich
Watch for the bull rush.
Alright, maybe option him off, then.
Oh.
3. We Did The Pick Sixes This Time
Kinnel with some flair at the finish:
Hill turns on the jets:
Defense 14, Offense 14.
2. You Made Him Angry
"Targeting":
Targeting?
I'll show you targeting.
Poor Damn Hayden Moore. He didn't throw that flag.
FRAMES OF THE GAME: TWICE LEFT HANGING
Poor Damn Chase Winovich.

It seemed like he even surprised himself a little when he found his extra gear.

His extension to catch it in stride is underrated on that play. It looks like it will be out of his reach, then maybe extension to just get the sticks moved, but dude has body control for days and turns it upfield.
September 12th, 2017 at 5:31 PM ^
and think most people miss how nice of a catch that is. The ball was high and he just plucked it out of the air and then turned on another gear. He's going to be a huge weapon all year.
September 13th, 2017 at 12:27 PM ^
Shocker, the ball was overthrown.
September 12th, 2017 at 3:11 PM ^
I like when I hit play on each one as I scroll down, then I scroll back up and they're all playing at the same time. It's like I'm the maestro of a beautiful orchestra.

Too many goodies to choose from.

Gary post-targeting is my winner. That speed rush was a thing of beauty. Him and Chase coming off the edge is really awesome.
September 12th, 2017 at 3:26 PM ^
I love how at the end of that play Moore still has his head up...and then just droops it to the turf.
September 12th, 2017 at 9:02 PM ^
to make sure the rest of his body was still attached.

Damn....that pass to Perry was kinda high.

he needs to work on his release point.... :)

Was my favorite thing of the season so far.

Probably. In my section we are all graduate students or former graduate students (I was 15 when that album came out), so we really carried it home.
September 12th, 2017 at 10:18 PM ^
By that I mean the row I'm in, not actually an entire section of the stadium.

The feeling in the stadium after that big hit (the post-targeting revenge) was total bloodlust.
Fans had been pissed at the refs, and Gary's hit was like a return volley that usually never gets fired back at the referees.
I can't think of another time in my (limited) in-person viewing of football that folks gave a standing ovation to a hit that wasn't a sack or TFL.
September 12th, 2017 at 3:29 PM ^
The only thing missing is the punter's facial expression, but still ... beautiful. You can see him getting into his rhythm, getting his head right, and catching the ball whizzing past his head in a perfect 1, 2, 3 sequence. And none of this is really his (or his snapper's) fault - it's Fickell's for being Fickell.
(I loved when Brock Huard was apologizing for Fickell's clock management along the lines of "well, he's relatively new at this" ... . Like a life in football and having been a head coach at OSU wouldn't give you some background.)
September 12th, 2017 at 3:29 PM ^
Shouldn't it be be Defense 16, Offense 14? Pedantic, but the defense didn't tie their offense, they outscored them.
September 12th, 2017 at 4:51 PM ^
I think special teams <> defense.
September 12th, 2017 at 3:31 PM ^
Chase's hair is freaking me out. Looks like the mid 40's divorcee looking for round 2.
September 12th, 2017 at 3:46 PM ^
Looks like JMFR before Ryan met up with Delilah.
September 12th, 2017 at 3:31 PM ^
The Winovich bull rush was incredible. Love seeing a good pancake.
September 12th, 2017 at 4:48 PM ^
Mr. Brightside just cracks me up. The look Don Brown throws at Chase is pretty priceless. Then he seems to be telling the other guys not to pay any attention to him, this boy is certifiably nuts.
September 12th, 2017 at 10:58 PM ^
It was like Judo or something. Get him off balanced then FINISH HIM

stiff arm and spin needs more love...
September 12th, 2017 at 3:39 PM ^
The omission of Mattison nodding with approval at Don Brown's playcalling early in the game saddens me.

take another look at the dvr of this game to see this happening!

The LT for the Bearcats was getting abused by both Winovich and Gary. I especially liked the play when Winovich deposited Cunningham on his backside before getting in the QBs face.
September 12th, 2017 at 4:05 PM ^
CB's playing "bump and run" it turns out that both pick 6's occurred as we were in zone. Great drops by the LB's forced over throws that led to both INT's. Great job boys !
Go Blue!
September 12th, 2017 at 4:32 PM ^
I have been critical of the extreme press coverage for this very reason. With the pressure from the front seven being what it is, the DBs should be playing off enough to spy the QB/pass and break on the ball. Here the QB generally only has time for one read
September 12th, 2017 at 10:54 PM ^
I agree and hope we mix things up vs Barrett. He won't have time for many reads, so drop into zone and get some turnovers
September 12th, 2017 at 4:09 PM ^
Do we think it's a case of guys bein' dudes and Rashan just having fun at Chase's expense, or do we think that there might be a bit of animosity and a sense of "What the hell are you doing?" with the high fives thing?
September 12th, 2017 at 4:16 PM ^
There was an argument about who has better hair. Chase uses Pantene. Rashan uses Fructis.
September 12th, 2017 at 8:01 PM ^
September 12th, 2017 at 4:20 PM ^
"I know defeat. Thy name is Rashan Gary."
"Ref make Rashan mad!"
The facemask-to-turf move by Moore that says, "I'm done," is full of GIF win.
September 12th, 2017 at 4:30 PM ^
I think watching a defense collectively react to and then block on an interception return is one of the coolest things in football. These guys tackle, they don't block, and to see them all start blocking for the benefit of their team is really neat. It's really noticeable on the Kinnel interception.
September 12th, 2017 at 9:19 PM ^
After pushing the LT into the backfield, Winovich put him on skates and drove him to the sideline.
September 12th, 2017 at 4:31 PM ^
September 12th, 2017 at 4:35 PM ^
you will NOT like him when he's angry...
September 12th, 2017 at 5:24 PM ^
My favorite part of the Gary Post-Targeting Gif is, when Moore is laying on the ground and his head just droops down. You can all but hear the wimper of pain and frustration.
September 12th, 2017 at 8:42 PM ^
then Mr. Brightside is the clear, undisputed winner.
It certainly looks to me like Brown looks at Chase, then raises his hand and says "alright, no singing." Then a brief look of disgust before the clip ends.
That's simply incredible.
September 12th, 2017 at 10:04 PM ^
So, they pretty much just have to get Rashan ANGERY on the first defensive series....
Good to Know......but who's dumb enough to be in charge of that?
