OT: LA Tech goes from 2nd and goal at the 7 to 3rd and 93 in yakity sax fashion
This play resulted in a loss of almost 90 yards.

HOW IS THIS EVEN REAL? pic.twitter.com/gsD9GulNaF
I'll post again in the comments just in case the tweet doesn't want to embed in the OP.
Edit: Now with music! (Thanks bacon.)

I wish the vidcappers would finish the story. What play do you call on 3rd and 93, exactly?
September 9th, 2017 at 11:50 PM ^
September 10th, 2017 at 12:18 AM ^
If it was Lloyd, you'd call a 3rd and 92 yard pass to the flat.
September 10th, 2017 at 1:18 AM ^
I already knew this.
September 10th, 2017 at 1:42 AM ^
No... run Hart into the line for 3 yards.
September 10th, 2017 at 5:00 AM ^
Run a play into the line to set the ball in front of the uprights. Take the l-o-o-o-n-g field goal. Then, down by only 8, can still tie with a TD and a 2-pointer. Easy. Just be patient. Don't panic.

and hope to get a PI or defensive holding call.
Seriously, what do you tell your defense? That would somehow make the sequence even more hilarious if they committed an automatic first down infraction.

I refuse to learn how this happened so it can remain in my imagination forever.

I would channel my inner Debord and dial up a 94 yard play.

September 10th, 2017 at 10:47 AM ^
That's what I was thinking. DeBord would run it a yard short and punt on 4th and 1.
September 10th, 2017 at 9:08 AM ^
I mean, he would call the same thing that we always got to experience on 3rd and 4 or 3rd and 5, right? Zone read left, gain of maybe three yards.
The question would be this - would he open up the playbook a bit and try a short wheel route on 4th and, say, 89? Would he dare to dream?

...the SEC team is playing at Louisiana Tech.
September 10th, 2017 at 12:05 AM ^
It's not unheard of, probably a 2-for-1. We're talking Mississippi State here, not Alabama.
September 10th, 2017 at 12:24 AM ^
According to Wikipedia they've only hosted a BCS-conference school one other time since their stadium went up in '68--they played Miss State in '08 too. Before that you have to go back to '53 when they played Florida State...which doesn't exactly count, because FSU was just six years removed from being the Florida State College for Women.
They've played people in Shreveport--the stadium there is about twice as big. But in Ruston it's just been those two games.

The dub to El Sonidito here could be the greatest thing I've seen all college football season.

I cannot stop watching. I cannot stop laughing. This is the greatest game.

had FIVE chances to just fall on the damn ball. FIVE
September 10th, 2017 at 10:24 AM ^
...they would have given up about 50 yards of field position.

Damn!
September 10th, 2017 at 8:28 AM ^
Had to go check the stats for the game and they still ended up with 152 yards rushing for the game.

LA Tech had driven to the Mississippi State 2. QB got sacked on fourth and goal and the fumble was scooped and run back 90 yards for a TD.
There were also three blocked extra points in the game, and one of those was run back for a score.
What a weird game.

Best play ever.
I would honestly send out the FG unit on 3rd and goal from your own 7.
September 10th, 2017 at 9:49 AM ^
La Tech had the game otherwise! Ok, so they didn't.
