Two UF freshmen busted for weed in the dorms
http://www.firstcoastnews.com/sports/college/florida-gators/two-uf-foot…
Ventrell Miller and James Robinson. Miller was already suspended for the credit card scam (!) and Robinson is a highly rated freshman WR (.9458 247 composite, 115th ranked overall) who was also cited for marijuana posession on his OSU official visit. Couple of real winners there.

I thought of a different scene...BAKAWK!

I'd much rather blame this on Urban Meyer. We'll just call it a leftover of his do whatever you'd like culture. I don't care how many years its been, I like being able to blame him!
(thanks for the national championships, though! Those were some fun celebration parties...)

Yes, college kids smoke weed, but they also do so at their own risk. These two numbnuts were stupid enough to 1) break the law and 2) violate university housing policy by smoking weed IN THE DORM, while on a full ride. Then again, as past history indicates, these kids are clearly not ones to care about things like, you know, the law or their scholarships.
Honestly, if you had a choice between being able to smoke weed, or being a full ride athletic scholarship and not smoking weed, what would you choose?

at UM had a houka pipe with six hoses and a bowl big enough to eat Wheaties from. It was a long time ago but UM didn't enforce any rules against weed.

Well, the resident advisors are typically students themselves, and in my experience having been an RA for 3 years, they are just as likely to be smoking weed (or drinking or doing other recreational drugs) with the rule breakers as they are enforcing the rules. And, the hall directors are often recent college grads still entrenched in that lifestyle and not much better.
This is not a surprise, but rather a comment on the dormatory system in American colleges. While I'm sure there are some colleges and dorms that have a culture of being more or less abiding of the rules/laws, this is not uncommon.

We got high on a daily basis with our sophomore year RA at Boston College. He hooked us up with a quality dealer too. He also taught us how to play Risk!

I smoked in the dorms from time to time. Not going to lie. If I was on an athletic scholorship my life would have been very different.
I never smoked while a student at UofM though. Masters of maturity and whatnot.
Still though, these are kids man. Kids. Weed is not a thing to get bent out of shape about IMO. Some people like cucumbers better pickled.

BTW, weed has no effect on Diabeetus

Maybe they shold go to school in WA, DC, CO, or CA then so half their problems in your mind would disappear.

Robinson is also the guy who tweeted "OSU PLAYERS DO SO MUCH DRUGS" shortly after his arrest on his offical there.

James Robinson is probably going to get dismissed over this. He was lucky Florida honored his scholly after almost every other school pulled out following the reveal of his behavioral issues. MacElwain was actually calling other programs trying to get him an offer before finally letting him into the program.
August 24th, 2017 at 2:38 PM ^
Yeah, I didn't realize he meant he was going to go out of his way to make McElwain look like a fool.

But how do they feel about having three QBs?
August 24th, 2017 at 8:06 PM ^
They were expecting some to get "weeded" out before they had to make an actual decision
August 24th, 2017 at 3:09 PM ^
That's a really bad look, if the school administration didn't want to let him in due to weed and then he's caught smoking weed as soon as he gets on campus.
August 24th, 2017 at 2:37 PM ^
I have pretty strong feelings about intoxicants, but this just seems like college kids being stupid, something that can happen at literally any school. The difference, perhaps, is that Florida actually catches guys rather than lets them go? Reminds me of the Richt Georgia teams, where the impression I got is that Richt actually enforced stuff and they consequently had a lot more guys in trouble. Not because guys behaved worse than at other SEC schools, but because the other schools didn't care.
But who knows. The optics here aren't good for McElwain at all, given everything else that's going on.
August 24th, 2017 at 2:52 PM ^
is commonplace across the US, but how stupid can one be??? Smoking in a dorm room is gonna be detected. It's SEC country, not freezing cold like it is up here in the north. So, take it outside! Can't believe some of these guys (speaking generally) can master sophisticated playbooks, rotations and check-off assignments. Must drive the coaches crazy.

My Jr yr in the dorms I had these two dudes next to me, all they did was smoke weed and play Sub Zero's Adventure on playstation, don't know how in the hell they graduated but we had some good times, smokin weed wasn't my thing but they always had hot chicks in their room, so I would go over just for the chicks, was that bad of me, lol
