Adidas Unveils Postseason Uniformz
Adidas released a group of alternate jerseys for the college hoops postseason today, including the uniforms Michigan will wear for both the Big Ten Tournament and, most likely, the NIT.
I'll withhold total judgment until I see these on an actual human, but they could be a lot worse, especially given adidas' standards. Remember, Michigan turned down that horrible zubaz concept a couple years ago. At least these have normal looking tops and understated shoes; the shorts would probably look pretty sharp if not for the whole two-tone thing, which is unfortunately the selling point of the uniforms.
Anyway, you'll see these on Michigan for the conference tourney and maybe a handful of postseason games, and then we'll all forget this ever happened.

I'd like to get me a pair of the D'Lillard's (the middle ones).

shoe laces.

ugh
Those shorts, though. WHY?!
I'm fine with the large M, but not the color format.

I know, right? Nike rulz!!!
Folks...ALL companies make ugly uniforms. It's up to the school to veto the garbage. If a school's contract doesn't permit a veto, then the school is just as much to blame.

I've never really had much of an issue with the colors and stuff. Its just that the Adidas jersey fabric is awful compared to nike
February 26th, 2015 at 11:54 AM ^
Seriously. People act like Nike wouldn't try to put us in Pro Combat Jerseyz for big football games. Remember the Black on Bronze look MSU sported? Or how about all the strange OSU jerseys over the past few years?
At the end of the day some stripes on the sleves and blue pants aren't that radical. Not saying I'd do it again but it wasn't like we wore maize jerseys and blue pants.
Also for all you people who want Nike so bad you better start writing to them asking them to come to the table. The exclusive negotiation period with Adidas ended Jan 1 and neither Nike nor UA has made us an offer. If we don't resign with Adidas we are going to be taking way less money from Nike or UA. Our product budget might be the same at 2.2M but they sure as hell aren't going to give us 3.8M cash.

Nah, you don't really get it. It's one thing to be negative, but folks need to have a positive next step. You (and many) hate Adidas. Good work, Silky Johnsons of the world. Who should we switch to? Nike...who also makes plenty of garbage:
Perhaps Under Armor who also makes plenty of garbage?
It's one thing to complain, but the problem isn't the apparel manufacturers; it's the schools who let this garbage happen. All the complaints are so repetitive and just as useless when targeted in the wrong direction.

The nerve of me to "sprew facts"!
Your opinion isn't wrong; it just misses the point and leads to nothing but further complaining about the next apparel manufacturer.

went back to it for the most part during the Manny-Sims-Darius era. I believe they were sporting black and black for both the 2009 and 2011 tournament appearances.
Despite all of the negative surrounding the Fab Five, the black and black look was awesome and I wish it had become a Michigan staple when they left.

Wee-Bey. Any crew would be blessed to have him in their ranks.
February 26th, 2015 at 12:03 PM ^
Wee-Bey took the years he earned. . . and took a bunch of years that other Barksdale hitters had earned. And, in the end, he made the right decision regarding Namond (and overruled his misguided baby mama/Namond's mother in the process). I love Wee-Bey. The only similar character I love more is Slim Charles ("...that was for JOE").

Too many favorites. Top 5: 1) Omar; 2) Wallace; 3) Bubbs; 4) Bunk 5) McNutty. But this could change during my next binge.

Where's Wallace, String?
February 26th, 2015 at 11:05 PM ^
Like Wee-Bey, always stayed true to himself...
A smart ass pawn.

Where he said something like "Yea, for another sandwich and some tata salad, I'll go another round."
Wee-Bey was the truth.

I'm not witholding judgement. Wtf is up with those shorts?

2 toned? Why?
February 26th, 2015 at 5:28 PM ^
once again it is way easier and cheaper to get noticed for making something as ugly as shit than it is to get noticed for making something great. And marketing types just want to get noticed.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:01 AM ^
All the elements are there for a good jersey, but Adidas has still managed to make it ugly. Remove the color blocking and make the stripes more consistent and you've got a pretty nice uniform.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:01 AM ^
Oh come on, the shorts aren't that bad...if you let your eyes go just out of focus and squint a little...
February 26th, 2015 at 11:01 AM ^
Michigan did wear the Zubaz jerseys in the BTT against Wisconsin...in a game that everyone wants to forget.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:45 AM ^
I really liked those jerseys. They had the big Block M. The Zubaz was understated.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:01 AM ^
Love the giant block M on the shorts. Hate the Two Tone. Death to Uniformz.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:17 AM ^
I am excited for the return of the Big Bad Block M.
I've been advocating for this for years. It belongs to Michigan, not just the Fab Five, and it's time to bring it back.
I'm willing to invest in the stupid two-tone shorts to get the big Block M sneaking back into the picture.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:46 AM ^
Who made those? The M placement is different on Ray Jackson's shorts than Webber's.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:59 AM ^
Russell Athletic. It sort of looks like they were expecting Jackson to wear shorter shorts and then added more fabric at the last minute to make them longer.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:07 PM ^
Some of them are even worse...they're in the middle of the shorts.
February 26th, 2015 at 2:49 PM ^
Just make the shorts all Maize and all Blue then we are all good!
February 26th, 2015 at 3:12 PM ^
Memories sweet memories. Also, the black shoes and black socks look awesome.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:02 AM ^
But as you say, these aren't too bad. And really my uniformz angar is mainly focused on football - I love all M sports, but I don't mind that they wear a different uniform every year or so. So them wearing something different for the tournaments doesn't bother me.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:03 AM ^
I dig having the angry sailor wolverine on there but does it have to be right above the crotchal region? Couldn't it be above the name on the back or something?
February 26th, 2015 at 11:23 AM ^
Crotchal region
This will always garner a +1 from me.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:04 AM ^
The jersey and shoes are nice. The shorts could use some work.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:04 AM ^
I'm pretty sure when you put those on a person it's going to look like they wearing a hula hoop or a fanny pack.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:04 AM ^
I'd like it if there were black shoes and different shorts.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:05 AM ^
If you switched the tops so that they matched the top half of the shorts, I would actually like these.
February 26th, 2015 at 11:26 AM ^
They would look like we forgot to tuck the shirt in.
We'd probably get T'd up if Teddy Valentine is reffing.
February 26th, 2015 at 1:16 PM ^
It would look like Michigan's players had really short legs, long torsos, and were wearing short shorts as a throw back to basketball pre-90's.
I say, Let's do it!
