Justin Dickens promoted to Director of Football Operations
Started from the bottom now we here.
I know the guys who run this site know Dickens and bring him up every once in awhile during podcasts. Obviously they dealt with him since he was the PR guy for the program.

Dude must have done a good job controlling the narrative of the football program and getting out ahead of any stories that came up in the recent past.
Can't say I've paid much attention to Brian's opinion of this guy. What is it?
Does it specifically regard him by name or more generally regard the corporateness and social-medianess of everything and -one under DB's reign?
Congrats Justin!
Justin Dickens used to be the keeper of Brady Hoke's truths, probably behind all of the "Devin Gardner has a thing with his ankle, we'll see how that thing effects him." Everyone talked to Dickens before they spoke to the press and he told them what they should and shouldn't say. I assume that's the Brian relation.
The Director of Football Operations is a pretty important role for all the logistics in the program which is why it's newsworthy. Hoke's first D of Fball Ops was Bob Lopez until he got promoted to Associate Athletic Director when Mike Vollmar left for Tennessee. Then Nolan Jones took over last season, replaced by Justin Dickens.
Would he have been involved with what Hoke was allowed to release in relation to the Gibbons situation? I.E. him missing time because of "a family issue in Florida"?
I'd say that's likely, so as not to take too much attention away from The Team finishing the season strong. Also, probably out of respect for Gibbons in the short term...

Is Scott Draper in some sort of Michigan Man witness protection program for what he did here?

I have no idea who you are, but I'm sure you're a douche. Dickens has an immense amount of experience in football on the NFL and collegiate level and has a huge amount of respect of all of the UM players I've seen him interact with.

If Dickens has been the football PR and media relations guy for the past three seasons, then who is the guy calling on media for questions, introducing coaches, setting up the podium, etc. that is always visible at press conferences?
