Woolfolk vs. D. Robinson in the 60 meters
Troy Woolfolk and Denard Robinson had fun throughout last season debating who was faster. It seems the race has been run and Denard is the winner.
Although they ran on different days, Denard in "the Dual" against Ohio State and Troy in the Simmons-Harvey Invitational yesterday, it seems pretty clear that Denard is the true speed merchant.
1. Denard Robinson, U-M 6.81
8. Troy Woolfolk, U-M 7.10
I'm sure the trash talk will continue until they actually race at the same time, but in my estimation this debate is over.

Everyone wanted me to race. They begged me. The track coach called my parents. Pleading. Telling them it was a sin to waste my god given talent. But I answered him in the same way I answered everyone. I chose not to run!

Unless they race head to head and Woolfolk wins

Well who knows what would happen if they were both training for track. Woolfolk had to gain 15-20 lbs last year to become a safety. So that probably slowed him down.

It's not like Denard was skin and bones though. He definitely put on some muscle since the end of the football season:

Holly Sh_ _! So that's the "bulking up" picture everyone has been talking about.

Is it just me or does the G force he generates out of the blocks contort his face?

It's just the stretching of the time/space continuum. They simulated it in the movie the Matrix, but this is the first time it's been photographed for real.

You always run faster when you have competition. Woolfolk could have been racing against slower competition.
My suggestion: Line them up before the spring game and settle this on the field.

Woolfolk finished eighth in his race. And the person who finished first had a better time than Denard had.
1. Adam Harris, Unattached 6.69
5. Robert Peddlar, U-M 7.02
6. Kyle Terpak, U-M 7.03
8. Troy Woolfolk, U-M 7.10

in a short sprint .3 seconds is a huge gap. I think it is safe to say that Denard is the better 60m man.

ran track for Michigan for the past 4 years. This year is the first year that he's running professional track. He also is an assistant coach for Michigan track.
Denard have a good shot of breaking Adam Harris's school record of 6.61 if he can get off the block quickly. Denard does not come off the block very well.

Adam Harris also participated in the Beijing Olympics

thanks to the loophole in representing for a country other than the country that you were born and grew up in.
Still, it's neat to see Michigan athletes in the Olympics.
Speaking of the Olympics, are there any Michigan athletes(current and former) participating for the Winter Olympics?

Some dude said his roommates are Ice Dancers or something and they qualified.

It also gives me a chance to post a picture of Tanith Belbin.

= instant win.

I think Denard and Troy won't race in the same event until the Indoor conference championship.

race against Woolfolk. It was not a track meet but merely a challenge from Woolfolk. The first race, Woolfolk got out of the block quickly but Denard caught up to him. No one was sure on who won the race. They had an another race soon after that. Denard won this race easily.
Daryl Stonum already challenged Denard to a race before the football season started. Denard smoked him.

I believe I red a post at scout last week stating they went head twice in practice. The first time they tied and the second time Denard smoked Troy.

Troy ran a 6.86 personal best last year, but I'm sure Denard will improve on his time.

Last year, Trindon Holliday (LSU DB) was widely considered the "fastest man in NCAA football". He finished second, to a LSU track teammate, at the 60 meter indoor track championships. He ran a 6.54, and this year has a personal best of 6.56

So are you saying, that Denard isn't elite fast like everyone makes him out to be? I know he's fast, but to me, elite fast is somebody who is unquestionably the fastest player on their team and one of the fastest in the country. It doesn't sound like Denard is either of those.
