Who's our Millen type candidate?

Submitted by bringthewood on

I was thinking back to when the Ford's hired Matt Millen with zero experience to run the LIons. Remember when Izzo expressed some interest in being the football coach? Just for fun who would you like DB to talk to who has limited/no experience that would be an interesting candidate? I'm not suggesting this but would be interested in speculation of off the wall candidates.

My choice would be Chris Spielman - yes a hated buckeye, but Moeller was an OSU captain and Bo coached there. Ton of passion, understands the rivalry and would probably be a terrible choice like Millen, but fun to speculate about.

Millen.

Not that Millen, but Hugh Millen.

Extremely bright, understands football and is very passionate.Have years and years of experience in NFL and have been a local Seattle radio analyst since then.

His father went to Michigan and Hugh has always said his second favorite team is Michigan (obviously, his alma mater, UW, is first, but loves Michigan).

Never became a football coach because he didn't want to pay the dues (i.e. toiling as assistant for a decade or so). But I believe he would make a great coach if given a chance. He would probably also come as a package with his best friend - Jim Mora.

HC - James Earl Jones
OC - Mike Wallace
DC - David Alan Grier
ST - Barry Larkin
Head Trainer - Sanjay Gupta
Obviously...this is a ridiculous suggestion. Everyone knows David Alan Grier prefers to coach the Offense.
Get on it DB!

I won the MNC 10 years in a row with North Texas on NCAA '07 before they randomly fired me right after winning another MNC. That's got to be worth something right?

He'd understand the rivalry better than anyone right? I mean he DOES own the rushing record against the Buckeyes after all so that qualifies him.

BTW, what the hell has he been up to the past few years? Anyone actually know?

Got a lot done with limited talent in Little Giants, which could be a valuable skill given the likely state of recruiting. Did well in the rivalry game. Has that bit of a sad sack look that will remind folks of Lloyd Carr, which should help with the alums.
