Who's our Millen type candidate?
I was thinking back to when the Ford's hired Matt Millen with zero experience to run the LIons. Remember when Izzo expressed some interest in being the football coach? Just for fun who would you like DB to talk to who has limited/no experience that would be an interesting candidate? I'm not suggesting this but would be interested in speculation of off the wall candidates.
My choice would be Chris Spielman - yes a hated buckeye, but Moeller was an OSU captain and Bo coached there. Ton of passion, understands the rivalry and would probably be a terrible choice like Millen, but fun to speculate about.

Dan Dierdorf... or Lucy Liu. She'd be a hell of a recruiter.

agrees with you. It was either Harbaugh or Miles from the get go. I've heard of some waffling on DB's part, but the way the updates have been leaking with the MSM it appears the deal is taking shape. We'll know quite soon.

I hate Ohio State.
How about Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Just think about Drew Sharp asking Arnold a question.....Ohh the possibilities.
He could also be our possible Strength coach....No Dianabol though.

Cobrani Mixon. Yes he transferred away but yes he wants back. To coach. With an OC of Mister Simpson.

Kelly Baraka will be put in charge of the S&C program (gotta get the kids hungry to eat all those pizzas) and Marques Slocum's Fuck Lion will call the defensive plays.

Millen.
Not that Millen, but Hugh Millen.
Extremely bright, understands football and is very passionate.Have years and years of experience in NFL and have been a local Seattle radio analyst since then.
His father went to Michigan and Hugh has always said his second favorite team is Michigan (obviously, his alma mater, UW, is first, but loves Michigan).
Never became a football coach because he didn't want to pay the dues (i.e. toiling as assistant for a decade or so). But I believe he would make a great coach if given a chance. He would probably also come as a package with his best friend - Jim Mora.
January 9th, 2011 at 12:19 PM ^
Eesh, you had me up until Jim Mora. Frankly, he's a decent coach, but I don't think he has a very favorable opinion of a playoff system...
January 9th, 2011 at 11:59 AM ^
I thought you were referring to Matt Millen's younger brother Hugh, not Hugh Millen the NFL player, which was entertaining.

HC - James Earl Jones
OC - Mike Wallace
DC - David Alan Grier
ST - Barry Larkin
Head Trainer - Sanjay Gupta

Obviously...this is a ridiculous suggestion. Everyone knows David Alan Grier prefers to coach the Offense.
Get on it DB!

He'd understand the rivalry better than anyone right? I mean he DOES own the rushing record against the Buckeyes after all so that qualifies him.
BTW, what the hell has he been up to the past few years? Anyone actually know?
January 9th, 2011 at 12:38 PM ^
The last I heard he owns and manages a couple of McDonald's in Florida.

according to Wikipedia, he owns two Bojangles restaurants in Georgia, and failed in his Nathan's Hot Dogs venture.

January 9th, 2011 at 1:44 PM ^
Got a lot done with limited talent in Little Giants, which could be a valuable skill given the likely state of recruiting. Did well in the rivalry game. Has that bit of a sad sack look that will remind folks of Lloyd Carr, which should help with the alums.
