I think Trey Burke played a nice game, but the rest of the team was a bit off. Too many turn overs and way too many bad shots. It looked like they felt the pressure.

I had hoped for a longer run, but I'm celebrating a good season for a bunch of respectable guys! They did us proud!

Novak was so confident that they adjust well after a loss and pull the Beilein's tourny first game winning records trick, etc. None of them happened yesterday........Just so frustrated with him recently. 1.Can't make threes, 2.can't defend(Like Hoke says it's all about expectations, you play PF, you are going to be expected as a PF, size is nonsense), and 3. NO LEADERSHIP presence on the court. Novak has been like this since the Purdue's loss. somebody pls ask him what was wrong with him, but then again it doesn't really matter anymore cause that was his last game. All in all, as a senior myself I'm deeply appreciated of what Novak and Stu have done for this program, they're dedicated and willing to do whatever the coach tells them to do, and successfully turned this program around. I would say last year's @MSU win the highlight game of their Michigan Career.  Let's hope next year's team will be better. Go blue.

You people who know more about hockey than I do: what is the rule about players being "in the crease?" Because it seemed like about nine UM players were in the crease when that 2OT goal went in.

Thanks, I'll take my answer off the air.

that once the puck is in the crease it's legal to go in. A player's stick or two was in the crease pre-puck, but I don't think any players went in before. Regardless, it's unlikely the reff will catch that in that situation, with all 10 bodies moving around so quickly.

In the NCAA rulebook under Interference, Section 29.c., p. HR-77:

A player of the attacking team may stand on the goal crease line or in the goal crease, or skate through the goal crease, unless, in the opinion of the official, the player is physically or visually preventing the goalkeeper from defending the goal.

The goalie took himself out of the crease following Treais, so he wasn't around to be interfered with.

A player of the attacking team may stand or stay in the crase when the puck is in the crease or when the player has possession of the puck.

BG actually gets possession of the puck along the left sideboards, but Pateryn does a great job of pinching in and causing a turnover. In the process he loses his stick, which goes all the way to the slot, then deflects off a BG skate to just outside the crease to the left. Pateryn looks like he's following his stick, but then he goes to the net. Don't know what he thinks he's going to do. Fortunately, Moffatt stuffs the puck into the net at 1:04.
