This is interesting...wonder who picks up the job.

In all fairness, this is the same paper that said RR to Alabama was a done deal two years ago.

I was just about to make a thread...
I think this is dumb. In a world where Chuckles can stay at ND, Tuberville, the master of the upset, is kicked out? Really? They can't give him another year? F*ck the SEC right now. I'm angry for Tuberville. He deserves better.

Alums and faithful don't have time for losing. Mark Ritch and Les Miles might see a little smoke coming out from underneath themselves if they continue losing BIG GAMES! Moreso Mark than Les...but nonetheless,Baton Rogue isn't going to let Bama or Flo get to far ahead of them.

But I think it was time for him to go. The offense has been MIA since Ronnie Brown, Cadillac and Campbell graduated. I'd hate to sound like Drew Sharp but the program had really grown stale over the past few years. By my math Auburn is scoring about 17 points per game, just 4 years ago they were scoring about 32 ppg.

I still think he deserved a swan song. Plus, he should have at least ended his career in a bowl. Screw the alumni (yes I know their pockets are very important, but screw them anyway). It's only fair that he be given a chance to redeem himself...what Tuberville does is give Auburn a shot to win on any field, anywhere, anytime. I still think that few other coaches can do that.
He was probably on the decline, but should have been given a chance to go out on his own terms, like Lloyd.

Tubs to Washington?
December 3rd, 2008 at 6:42 PM ^
for Syracuse or UDub - my guess would be Miss State, since Tuberville has been an SEC guy, and has experience coaching and recruiting in the state when he was at Ole Miss.
December 3rd, 2008 at 6:47 PM ^
Does Mississippi State really have that kind of money?
December 3rd, 2008 at 7:11 PM ^
Would he really want to work there? Miss St is one of the worst jobs in the SEC. He may want to sit out a year or two for something better.

Is there any chance Virginia kicks Groh to the curb and brings Tubs in? That would be awesome.
December 3rd, 2008 at 7:17 PM ^
said that Groh is coming back next season.
December 3rd, 2008 at 7:21 PM ^
If Groh cares about his alma mater, he should retire and let them go after Tubs. Virginia always seems more like a northeastern school for some reason, but they have the perfect location for going after Southern kids.

A good idea for him. I don't think Tub would work out west to good.
December 3rd, 2008 at 6:54 PM ^
that is only going to increase the pressure on those who are making the dollas in the (S)urely (E)verybody (C)heat.

i can't believe that Tubs is out there. I was just talking to a bud and current Auburn grad student about the rumors of him being out, thinking that there was no way he was. Guess I was wrong.

This is weird. Brian wrote an AOL post about Tubs coming back. This seems pretty quick on Auburn's part. They can't give the guy another season or two? I mean, Jesus H. He won a 'SHIP and they've been pretty damn good for quite awhile.
December 4th, 2008 at 2:03 AM ^
By 'SHIP do you mean SEC 'SHIP?
December 4th, 2008 at 4:21 PM ^
I meant a BCS 'SHIP but I think I was mistaken. They got screwed by the BCS one year, right?
December 4th, 2008 at 4:25 PM ^
They went undefeated one year (2004?) but did not appear in the BCS championship game, and finished #2 in the polls.
