lets work on getting our regular plays down before we start using trick plays. with sheridan out there sometimes i think a complete pass is a trick play

Yah, when you can't conquer the swing pass, it seems like it would be a good idea to stay away from trick plays.
This isn't the Little Giants, for god's sake.

You need plays that are working to set up a trick play.
I thought we should have gone for it on fourth down when we were on the OSU 40 down 21-7. Only because field position wasn't going to make much difference at that point in the game and I first down would have gotten us into fg range. At that point I felt we still had some outside miracle chance of pulling out a win.
Regardless, we loss 42-7 so not like another score or first down would have made a difference.

Trick plays are fine, so long as nobody calls them "trickeration." Trickeration is not a word and you'd have to be stupid to say it.

That drives me nuts. Why does ESPN think it's uncool to say "trickery"?

It's a perfectly cromulent word.

my only thought here is that SHERIDAN = DEATH and Rodriguez knows this better than anyone.

When Sheridan completed a downfield pass, that was our trick play.
