Streaks.

The last five Michigan head coaches (inclusive of RR) lost to Michigan State in their first year. Check. The last six Michigan head coaches (back to Fritz Crisler) beat OSU in their first year. You have to go back to Harry Kipke in 1929 to find a coach that lost to OSU in his first year. In fact, of the twelve Michigan coaches that played OSU in their first year, begining with Gustave Ferbert in 1897, Kipke is the only coach to have lost to OSU in his first year (Langdon "Bif" Lea tied OSU 0-0 in 1900). I hope we can forgive Kipke given his 2 National Championships in 9 years. Here's to keeping this streak alive. GO BLUE! Edit: I posted this late last night. This morning I ran across Pat Forde's column/pile of shit that essentially covers the same info. I apologize and feel somehow dirty. Anyone know of a good therapist?
