So, i'm being a good boy and am on a work conference call.  I'm watching the flow of the match with the sound off.  I'm not influenced by the announcing, I'm not caught up in the game from a fan's perspective.

From that view point . . . we look good.  We are going toe-to-toe with them.

I just said we look good.  Not that we're going to win the World Cup.

We don't have Dempsey, Altidore, Howard.  So not exactly our full A team either.

But the point is that it was always said that even the German/Dutch/etc. B-teams could easily beat our A teams.  And that was painfully true.

No longer.  That's real, tangible progress.

Germany's B team, if given the proper time to settle and build chemistry together, could probably challenge for a WC semifinal. And it's not like it's our complete A team either. Solid performance.

2nd half way better than 1st.  Yes its not German's A team but neither is this our A team.  (And yes their A team is better than ours).  I really like the fight in Zardes.  Hope he adds some technical skill next year or two because he finds nice pockets to make plays.
