OT - Top Gear and Brian Johnson from AC/DC
Because of the wonders of the internet, we can watch one of the best shows on tv (a few hours/days later) anywhere in the world. If you haven't ever watched an episode of Top Gear, I feel so sorry for you. This week's episode had an interview with the lead singer of AC/DC, Brian Johnson. Mostly the interviews are random Brits that I can't really understand their jokes. Below is the link to the video. Highly recommended for his peeing in Russia story, starting just after 4:30.

Most of top gear is just doing stupid and goofy things in cars...such as crossing the English Channel in home made amphibious cars.

And they also test drive new super cars, here the Lotus Exige vs a Mustang.

One of the best shows on tv. I can't recommend it enough.
The episode where they went to the U.S. and got attacked by rednecks in Alabama is my favorite.

While they did fail to cross the English Channel, Jeremy Clarkson and James May actually did manage to drive to the north pole whilst swigging gin and tonic.
Top gear is a great show, but it's usually not closed captioned. I'm not deaf, but close, and TV is REALLY hard for me to understand.
Clarkson's accent is funny whether you can understand him or not.
I have the same problem with most British shows. I tried watching "The Life of Brian" a few weeks ago and there was no CC available on the DVD. About 45 minutes in, I thought to myself, 'I'm pretty sure this is hilarious, but I just can't tell because I can't understand about 95% of what they're saying.' Literally the only word I got was 'bloody'. I understand Top Gear much better, though. Even if you can't understand it, the cinematography is gorgeous each and every episode.
I LOVE Top Gear. Best non-fiction show on television for my money (which is none). It still baffles me that the car-crazy U.S. can't come up with anything better than windbreaker John Davis and Motor Week. Either that or the boy-racer junk on Spike. EXXXXXTREME!!!!! What an embarrassment.
what channel?
BBC America. Usually on Monday evenings, and other various times of the week. Not sure when the new season is starting.
Living in England and everyone watches top gear on sunday evenings. It has epic proportions of awesomness. First time watchers should watch some of their specials like their trip around vietnam (or is it cambodia?), the north pole trip etc
