OT - Perfect movies/tv shows for mobile device?
These need not be Michigan related.
I just picked up an iPhone 4, upgrading from a 3GS. One thing I didn't take a ton of advantage of is importing videos/movies into my phone. So, that's what I'm doing with this one.
Currently, I have the first two seasons of the office and The Hangover.
The way I think of a "perfect" movie for a mobile device is something that will entertain me on a plane/in car for multiple viewings and something that doesn't need a mammoth TV screen (so sports probably a no).
So any suggestions? What do you folks have on your mobile devices?
Honey I Shrunk The Kids
Buy it from the Itunes store and import it to your phone, or buy episodes with the Itunes app on your phone and they will download directly.
torrents
Do you have to convert it to iphone format. I know for the ipod you did.
If you have the DVDs, you could always use DVDFab. There's an "import to iPod" or somesuch option that I enjoy for putting my movies on my phone.
Dumb and Dumber. The best movie ever.
Why would you get and iPhone 4 now when iPhone 5 is rumored to be released this fall? Just saying.
<br>And to answer your question, get Netflix.
Contract ran out and my phone was beat up pretty bad.
There's a new iPhone every year and a half. I tend to not get caught up in the "next great thing" because the next, next great new thing will follow shortly after.
EDIT: Also, I'm graduating in August and wanna make sure I keep my 10% UM student discount on this next contract. That 10% saves me about $340 over two years. Don't know if I'd be able to pull that off if I waited until mid-to-late Fall.
I work in the cell phone industry and from what I've heard it won't be released until late first quarter 2012. I've heard production will start in the fall.
iPhone 5 won't be a complete overhaul...won't be entirely different. Plus, the iPhone 4 is a great phone, so why wait?
I watched Bruno on mine. $$$
anyone watch that movie?
I enjoy laughing
I enjoy laughing
Black Hawk Down
I'm a media nut and have about 650 movies in itunes.
I'm sitting here right now selecting movies for a trip myself.
My best advise is select ones with dialog/music you particularly like; you can't always plan on seeing the screen at all times.
Good point with seeing the screen. Definitely something I didn't really think about - though did think about good dialogue in the sense that I may throw on the headphones while driving if I can't find a local station I like.
plays movies all day the way other people play albums. It's all in the dialog (and to a lesser extent the soundtrack) for her.
I've spent enough time in airports and on the road that the audio makes a difference.
I'm driving 450 miles into Canada tomorrow and just had to select Groundhog Day over The Good, The Bad & The Ugly.
I've got the music to TGTB&TU anyway, and the Groundhog dialog is priceless.
If you have Netflix, download the Netflix app for your phone. There are some pretty good shows on there. I have been (re)watching the X-Files - Netflix has every single episode - and The Kennedys, which I think is solid.
Also download this to go with it:

just sayin...
Has went down the tubes in recent years. Still an okay show but not as good as it was.
The new episodes are absolutely terrible. They take up half the episode with a meaningless dance, song or music video. The old episode though, are still classic no matter how many times you see them.
Family Guy has gotten old unfunny. The Cleveland show was (still is) terrible from the beginning. The only Seth Macfarlane show that is smart and funny is American Dad.
Watched the first episode of the cleveland show and was angry that I wasted that half hour. Have never seen American Dad though
Is kind of the opposite of family guy.(not in a bad way) They don't use cutaway gags, it actually has a good plot and has a good variety of characters.
Will I have to watch from the beginning because there are reruns on all the time?
So you know what the shows about and you get to know the characters.
Seriously? It's an animated cartoon show on Cartoon Network for God's sake. MichiganWolf must be a film student or something! "get to know the characters"... HaHa!

You need to know what the show is about, and the characters are a big part of show.
I hadn't thought of Netflix, but if it works the way I envision it, that would be a great option.
I'm soon moving into a more rural area in about a month and seeing as I will no longer be a 10 minute walk from a library with a large DVD collection, I might look into Netflix if I can fit it into the budget.
It's absolutely worth it. They have most seasons of shows available for instant streaming. All of the Family Guy and Futurama and The Office that one could wish.
Pulp fiction and Snatch
Still using my iPhone 3G and I've watched the Citrus bowl game against florida a million times on this thing. A good HD feed will be viewable on the phone.
I Have the cap one bowl v Florida on my iPhone
One of my favorite shows of all time. That 70s show always gives me some laughs no matter what.
Porn
Seriously? Kids read MGoBlog, I send some of the good threads to my 10 year old nephew and I can't anymore if deviants like you keep it up with the FOUL language!

TPB represent!
I watched the trailer on Netflix and I was not a fan. I am going to go and watch the second episode because I think it is harsh to make a final decision on just the pilot.
Did you love it right away or did it build as the season progressed?
episodes that are really funny. i suggest you watch this though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zW7eNNdaJO4
Super Troopers, that movie never gets old.
Archer, metalocalypse, southpark, clone wars, frisky dingo...
Does anyone know how to get UM games on their iPhone?
If you want live games, purchase a.sling box and hook it up to your dvr/cable box. Then buy the sling box app. Whole thing should cost about 250-300
