OT: Online Petition to have Deadpool host SNL
Thought this was a not so bad idea. A Deadpool fan started an online petition to try to attract attention to the idea of having Ryan Reynolds host Saturday Night Live in character as Deadpool. Might be fun. I'm a fan of both franchises and it would be a good change up for SNL. The idea is not completely unheard of either as Pee Wee Herman (actor Paul Reubens) hosted SNL in character back in the day. For those remotely interested here's the link:

Apparently 32,000 people have signed thusfar.

Wade Wilson (Deadpool) in the 2009 film X-Men Origins: Wolverine. My son keeps me posted on all the comic book characters and we both missed this. I'll have to go back and watch this.

Do yourself a favor and don't. That movie is generally bad and is a horrible representation of Deadpool. The new film is 100% the comic Deadpool.

The movie was very fun as was the marketing campaign that was done for it. + rated R comic book films are rare.

You are pretty much right. Change.org is for social causes, not to get a character from a movie onto a tv show.
February 18th, 2016 at 5:02 PM ^
To be fair, however, some pretty asinine petitions have appeared on Change.org over the years, most of which were totally unrelated to social causes. A couple examples that I have seen -
- bringing hot mustard sauce back to McDonalds
- porting Smash Borthers to PSVita
- petition to stop making stupid petitions
As for Deadpool hosting SNL, it was a hilarious film, I thought. It would definitely be interesting.

I would love to cross reference these 36,000 people to see how many voted in the last election.

The other 35,831 were too bombed out of their minds to go vote.

But dear God in heaven, I hate Ryan Reynolds.

I don't know I thought he kind of saved his career with this movie. I previously disliked him, now I can see how he can somewhat...work.

Not saying you're wrong, just genuinely curious. I think he's pretty funny. Green Lantern was fucking awful I'll give you that, but some of his movies are pretty solid. Just Friends was awesome.
