OT: NCAA 11 and USC Bowl Ban

Submitted by formerlyanonymous on

Linebacker-U.com, a collaboration of several now defunct Penn State blogs, brought an interesting idea to my attention. Could a patch be delivered to NCAA '11 that imposes the Southern Cal bowl ban, much less scholarship losses? For $60 a game, that's a good amount of money for a good product, so why not continue the realism?

I'm not one out there cheering for USC to get the death penalty or anything, but realism in the game seems like an awesome deal.

Sure...  It will happen just as soon as you can give recruits secret dufflebags and awesome co-ed parties on their recruiting visits!  I wonder if when you get caught you'll have to give back your NC and Heisman trophies as well.  Will this screw up your 4 straight NC's achievement?

NCAA 11 = It's in the game!  Literally!

If you didn't have an option that would anger a lot of USC fans that buy the game.  I'm sure there are many too.

The reason I think they won't is because I don't think they want to add that type of realism to the game.  EA probably would like to, but I'm guessing the NCAA controls some of that stuff, and probably wish for that not to be allowed in the game.

You could be placed on probation in past versions.  Mostly for player discipline issues if I remember correctly.  I think the reason USC issues won't is already covered by lorsonlo above.

That said, I too would like to see it as an option.
