Are you fucking kidding me, he's seriously in this tournament?  They couldn't find a player who, I don't know, actually started more than 3 games instead.

Why is Drew Brees in this tournament?  He was on the cover last year.

Champ Bailey would be a fine choice.  Unfortunately, the general public probably recognizes Tebow more than Bailey or Dumervil, and of course that is what EASports is going for.  If you put up a pictures of Champ Bailey and Tebow without a uniform or identifying clothing, i think more people are going to recognize Tebow than Bailey.

Brees was just on the cover last year, and Larry Fit has also already been on the cover.  I also understand the marketing aspect.  Then why is Jordan Gross in it instead of Steve Smith?  Danny Woodhead is more marketable than Tom Brady?  As for the other points, that's why I said "blah blah" after the Mike Vick crap.

Originally, I was going to say that if Hines Ward wins I'm going to drown some kittens.  However, after the Madden curse was wisely pointed out I'm pulling for him.

Aaron Rodgers has to be the favorite to grace the Madden Cover. He just won the Super Bowl and gained celebrity status as a player, not as the player who has to replace a legend in Brett Favre.  I would be shocked if any player other than Rodgers would grace the Madden Cover. I can see Mike Vick beating out Rodgers but Vick present a marketing risks because there are people who still resent Vick for the dogfighting thing.

Ya know, he would have stayed if he wasn't pushed to a backup role. He just wanted to start, and who could blame him at that point in his career. I don't see why that is such a big deal. It's not like he shit on everyone on his way out. He just had issues with Ted Thompson.

He toyed with the franchise for years with his annual post-season waffling. Rodgers likely would have left had Favre been re-handed the starting job. I was fine-ish with him going to New York and finishing out there, but he wanted to punish the whole Packer franchise by returning as a Viking and getting his revenge. That isn't loyalty. Of course the last laugh was Green Bay's, and he went out in the most pathetic manner possible, on and off the field. Still doesn't change the fact that he happily wore the enemy's colors back to Lambeau.  The fanbase was divided on the Favre issue before he went to Minny, then the hate was universal.

Don't lump me in with that rabble. I'm old enough to remember what Packer games were like to watch before Favre. The people who hate him the most are those who never saw Randy Wright throw a wobbly spiral that got picked off by the likes of Mike Singletary. I appreciate the 18 years of Packer Sundays (of which he never missed 1) that he made so entertaining.

How does that prove your point?  Benedict Arnold was a pretty damn good and dedicated officer for the Continental Army before his treason.  He left because he felt he was underappreciated by the top leadership. Seems similar to the Favre thing...and what is Arnold's legacy today?  I grew up watching Favre work magic (and throw his fair share of interceptions, which people seem to forget), but the team is larger than the individual, and he showed his true colors by running to the enemy's side.  And cheating on his wife.  And saying publicly that his '09 Vikings team was the best he had ever played on (dissing the '96 World Champion Packers).  He acted like a spoiled little brat over the whole fiasco, and as far as I'm concerned, he should go into the Hall of Fame as a Viking.

but the Saints promptly lost to a 7-9 Seattle Seahawks in the 1st round of the playoff though to be fair, the Seahawks shouldn't have hosted the playoff because their record are inferior to the Saints.
